ANTI-SPAM for Exchange 5.5 with third-party Exchange POP3 Manager Software.

Hi All

Good Morning

Wish you all MERRY CHRISTMAS & HAPPY HOLIDAYS

To stsrt with.... I am SPAMMED..

I am the systems administrator of a Venture Capital firm with 45 users

The following describes my setup

Exchange 5.5 SP
Third-party Exchange POP3 Manager (available from www.exchangepop3.com) to fetch mails from my 45 mailboxes at my ISP where my domain xyz.com is hosted
Windows 2000 Advance Server SP

I need an effective, tested, ANTI-SPAM solution for my server, which has an automated update engine to update its database & white/black lists. I have 24 X 7 net connectivity

Any suggestions will be highly appreciative & helpful

I thoroughly believe in GFI Mail Essentials. Their SPAM
filtering technology is excellent, the software is very
inexpensive (about $500 for your setup) and comes with
lots of added value, i.e. Pop Downloader, Multiple Group
Based Disclaimers, Mail Archival, Logging and reporting.
You can log SPAM, Delete it, forward to a specific folder
in the user's mailbox or put it all in one mailbox or
public folder. I put it all in one mailbox which I mull
thru once a week to see if something important got
clogged. Out of the 5,000 SPAM messages it blocks each
week (for 75 mailboxes), I usually find less than 5 that
are not SPAM, and normally none that are important.

The whitelist updates automatically, if you choose to do
so.

If you're a 24x7 operation why do you use POP, instead of
having your Exchange Server send & receive email with
SMTP? Maybe you have dial-up Internet Access, which is
the only reason to use POP (IMHO).

Exchange 2003 DR: parallel universe really necessary for full sys
We are in the process of adding to our DR plan for exchange 2003 Enterprise. -our exchange 2003 enterprise resides on its own server. -our DCs (2) reside on their own servers (that is the exchage server is NOT a DC). -exchange runs on windows 2003 enterprise SP1. -os and apps reside on their own hard disk -logs reside on its own disk -databases reside on it's own disk From my readings I understood that previous version of Exchange required a "parallel universe" to exist in order to rebuild exchange after some disaster--not so with Exchange 2003 (or did i misunderstand?). Group rights to mailbox on Exchange 2003?

To date I have only been successful with individual users although I can add a group this has no effect for rights. Any help is appreciated. Thanks Tom.
