Address space sharing.....reply to non-authoritive server??

Hi

I have been following the KB321721 and have completed it and mail does
flow in through the new org, and pass it on to the old org which is the
authoritive one for the domain.

My question is....How do you send mail to or reply to mail from the old
org to the new? As it is authoritive....it will NDR straight away
saying doesn't exist????

Help would be appreciated!!

David

I don't believe you can send mail from the old org to the new. You could
create a sub-domain and populate the GAL with contacts from the new org of
course this won't take care of the reply issue. Can you explain more about
why their are two orgs and what your plans are.

Hi

There are two org because we are planning a migration but want a
completely new domain, as we cannot trust the domain that was in
previously as it has had alot of schema changes etc.

My plan is to create new users and disable/delete the old ones as I go
as this will be a staged event, but obviously would like mail to flow
still.

What if I create contacts(on the old) for the moved users, and then
create a bogus domain name for them to forward to, and set up a SMTP
connector to this domain name pointing to the old server, and then add
this domain to the recipient policy of the new...just a
thought....seems a bit long winded though....

Tried out how I described in my last message, and that seems to work.

Like I said, its long winded, but it does work.

The migration is from one 2k3 to another 2k3

Rejected by Server
When sending mail, I get an error with "rejected by server". The e-mail is still sent, but I get this error message every time. You are hiding some of the details. The reject error would show some status error number, like 550, and an error code, like 0x.....CE. Are you sending e-mails using your ISP's SMTP (outbound) mail server? Or are you connected to their network but trying to relay SMTP requests across their network to an SMTP server on someone else's network? That's a no-no since many ISP's will not let you relay SMTP traffic across their network (except,...

Can the column index in a cell address be made variable?
Hi, To refer to a cell with a variable row number, we can just code it as, for example, Dim i As Interger i=234 Range("A" & i).Select To refer to a cell with a variable column index, it seems not that easy because the column index must be explicitly specified in a cell address. So, if I want to go to the j th column on the 2nd row or j columns to the right of cell AA3, is there a quick and easy way to do it? Thank you in advance. can servers be moved between administrative groups?
Below is an extract from the 70-284 MS training kit. I am totaly confused i have been told in this newsgroup by an MVP that you can not move a server once installed to a different administrative group and have also read elsewhere that you cannot but Microsoft below say you can in both modes. Subsequent Exchange servers are added to routing groups during the installation process, and if necessary, you can move servers between routing groups using Exchange System Manager. The only caveat is that in mixed mode, you cannot move servers between routing groups that belong to different administrative...
