I'm seeing this in my Exchange box and also at my home ISP's pop3 mailboxes.

I think this is the new age spam??

I believe as a clarification (correct me if I'm wrong)
It is not uncommon to see such things and I have not yet found any specific
reference that explains how to configure exchange to drop messages that
appear from it's own domain(s) but actually originate from other domains.
Anyone here familiar with how to do this? My guess would be some sort of
SMTP sink of some type.

Thanks!

I really need some direction in this issue, users were getting email which
originated from their own email account, it is confusing the hell outta me.

We had the same issue. In the subject line is all numbers. We have IronPort
C60 appliances that filter all our mail traffic, I contacted Symantec about
the issue, and they are aware of these email messages going around and are
working on a solution. This is a spoofing issue so if you want you can enable
reverse DNS look-ups on your Exchange servers.

You dont need MVP to help you, Just kidding (-:

anyway
First thing first did you check to see your AV Spam software is upto date?????
I am not sure what configureation you have on the Exchange server
here some basic tips for you
"How to stop spammer or make their life heartbroken"

Summary
1. Use antivirus and spam software with your exchange , I am little bias and
like Trend Micro in this

matter, Trend is doing great job, if you are corporate than you may want to
implement hardware
solution, Barracuda, Mail Frontier end etc.
2. Use IMF Microsoft Intelligent Message Filter, it is FREE (-:
3. Enable Sender filtering ( follow reading this article I will illustrate
this)
4. Enable Filter messages with blank senders
5. Enable Drop connection if address matches filter
6. Add your own domain ( whole domain into Block list) I know this will
sound weird (-:
7. Enable Recipient filtering
8. Enable Filter recipients who are not in the Directory
9. Add regularly spammers either Whole domain( @smapmer.com) or single
e-mail address

(smapmer@spam.com) into block list
10. Enable SMTP Tar pitting

I also recommenr you scan your network with a network sniffer, to see if
there is any weird traffic is going on, Etherial is free Windows 2003 netwrok
monitor is free
if one of your work station has a worm or ETC

Cheers

Thanks alot guys for your input. Specially OZ for all the time to type those
steps. Ii appreciate your effort.
While i was trying more options we got email from Frontbridge that this
spam is going on so we created a front end rule to block it.Some how when i
was reported this issue earleir no one had anything on their site to point in
this direction, or maybe my shortsightedness.

I appreciate everyone's effort.This SPAM IS CONTROLLED..
Thanks

SP3 issues
A friend's son's machine is relatively new for XP (2005), but it is sorely lacking in RAM, something that will be remedied as soon as Crucial delivers on Monday. It was also wildly inundated with spyware, etc., but no viruses according to Avast! Took a couple of days, but it seems relatively clean now. conditional format formula? help please
Folks, I would like to format an entire row in my sheet based on the text in one cell of each row. For example, when cell S33 equals "Complete", I'd like row 33 (or even just cells S1 to Snn) to assume a gray background. Now I'm no stranger to Excel and routinely build mildly complex formulas and arrays, but I can't seem to make this work in the conditional format dialog box using the "Formula is" choice. What am I missing? Anyone have a quick formula I can put in the dialog? thanks, -gb Geoff, Select Row 33 Format -> Conditional Formatting... Formu...

Office 2007 Styles create issue with "Too many different cell form
I'm not sure if anyone has come across this issue. I have a file that is used by both 2007 and 2003 users. Everything was working fine until one day the 2003 users were getting "Too many different cell formats." The issue was that there were now 3000+ styles on the spreadsheet. There were now custom styles created for each of the new cell styles in 2007 like the accents. It looks like everytime this was saved in compatibility mode, this was turned into a custom style. Eventually there were Accent1, Accent 1 1, Accent 1 2, etc. This looks like it will continue to...

Wrap Text issue
I am having an issue with printing wrap text. On the screen, the wrap text apears fine. However, when I print to paper or tif image the data is sometimes truncated or chopped off at the top and or bottem. This issue mainly occurs when the column width is 255 but I have seen it in other instances. My process is automated so that it Autofits the columns, selects wrap text, Autofit the rows, and then print the sheet. I understand that characters past 1024 will not be displayed in a cell, so that is not the issue. The example that I am using to try to solve the problem is only 279 ch...

Track email accounts not being used
Good afternoon. We have several hundred Outlook users. Our server currently is 2003 with Exchange Server 2003. I was wondering if there is a way for me to see which of our users are not using their email on a regular basis. Policy states that staff should look at their email daily but I know for certain that some users have not looked at their email in months. Any assistance would be appreciated. Thank you. In ESM expand the Stores and then select 'logons' or 'mailboxes', it will show you there last logon date. No logon date means the user is currently logged in. Olive...
