Yearly tick marks on the x axis

How do you show tick marks each 12 months in a graph when the data is from month 1 to say month 60. If you say want a tick mark each 12 th division you have 1,13,25,37 etc. You can't start from zero so how do you do this

I'm using Excel 2002

Thanks

Ken,

I tried this using a Line chart (as opposed to an XY, or Scatter, chart) and
it worked fine. I defined the x-axis as a range containing the numbers 1 to
60, and the y-axis the adjacent cells in the next column. Double clicking
on the x-axis to open the Format Axis dialog, I selected the Scale tab. The
first box (Y-axis crosses at category number) was already set to 1. I
entered 12 in the other two boxes (Number of categories between tick-mark
labels and Number of categories between tick marks) and got a graph with
labels at 1, 13, 25, 37, and 49.

Yes David, that what I got, but what I want is tick marks/labels at 12,24,36,48 etc signifying years. In reality the first mark should be 1 +11 and then each subsequent mark should be + 12. How do you show this?

Ken -

If it's a line chart, put only the numbers you want to show into the X
values column, and leave the other cells blank. In other words, only put
the number in the cell for 12,24,36, etc., then make sure Excel is using
this range for category labels.

how do I print onto 8.5 x 5.5 note cards
The paper size of the note cards that I want to print onto is not shown in the drop down box where you change paper size. How can I print onto this size? Setup your printer first for this size. Page setup should reflect the size and say it will print two copies per sheet on letter stock. How to have the Y-axis values on both sides
I am working with a chart that where I would like the Y- axis to be on both "ends" of the chart (right and left). If that is not possible I would like the y-axis values to be on the right side, instead of the usual left side. Anyone knows how I can do this? Extrapolate to zero (n) rather than forecast x units
It would be useful when adding trend lines to be able to set 'extrapolate to a number' rather than 'forecast x units along'. This would allow you to click extrapolate to x=0 so that the trend line can be seen back to the axis. It also means that you don't have to calculate the difference between the last data point and the point you wish to extrapolate to. I have created a line chart where I need for the axis labels and title to be changeable according to the contents of certain cells. Office X to 1.1.2
I'm using Office X, which I upgraded from Word and Excel 98. I have all the original cds and copies of invoices. I'm trying to update to 10.1.2 and ultimately to 10.1.5. The installer won't work. When I installed the original 98 version, I made a typo when entering my last name. So that was carried forward to OS X. Now I'm running Panther, and my name is entered correctly in that. Could that be the reason the installer doesn't work? I can't think of anything else. BTW, is it really worth updating to 10.1.5. What are the advantages? Thanks very much. In article <...
