'Save As' in Excel
I would like to create an Excel file from within another file, I
want it to act like this. I want to open a specific file (we
will call it 'myfile') and from within 'myfile' I want to save
the current file as another called 'mynewdate' when the 'Save
As' is selceted from the File menu. I want the new file to use
the current date as a default file name in the format of
'/mmddyyyy'. So here is the scenario;open myfile, save as
(diaglog opens) mmddyyyy is already in filr name box. How can I
do this? Thanks

...MFC bug? Save As dialog crashes in old style
I have to use an old style Save As dialog under XP with

The same code works well with VC++6.0.
If the OFN_EXPLORER bit is omited (m_ofn.Flags &=

everything is OK if this line is in comment.
The HOOK procedure doesn't solve the problem, either.
It seems to be an MFC bug.

Any other functions that don't appear to be working?

For no particular reason I've noticed that my Word 2003 and Excel 2003

produce long (10 sec) delays when I use the File |Save As command. Suppose
I'm trying to reach a nested folder. As I click each successive sub-folder,
it seems that some will instantly produce the next nested level, while
others only do so after a delay, during which nothing appears to be
happening. If I drill down to a subfolder nested five or so levels deep, it
almost seems as though every other sublevel behaves normally and the rest
with the delay.
Any possible explanations?

Yes. References ALWAYS need to be checked when converting between versions of
Access. For example, just look at the reference (2002) "Microsoft Access 10.0
