Fractions Number format

Is it possible to do a custom number format for cells such that fractions
are displayed. I'm guessing not because there'd be a limit on what fractions
you could display, but I would probably only be interested in showing a half
as the little 1/2 (alt,0189 I think) rather than .5

Try this custom number format

# ?/?

The little 1/2 is a special character, as you point
out yourself, and it's inserted as text and cannot be
used in calculations.

Caught out with cheating by using conditional formatting <g>. How to deal with via formula instead?
Cell C5 is a value from another sheet in the workbook. However, I set conditional formatting to blank out B5 if B1, which is on the same sheet C5 is on, is blank. Now that I have added a formula that will use the value from cell C5, this workaround isn't working because C5 is being calculated whether or not B1 is filled or not, which isn't good. If B1 is empty, C5 should count as a zero value so that the new formula shows the balance without taking C5 into account. So instead, how can we deal with putting a value in C5 from the other page _unless_ B1 if empty. If B1 is empty, C5 s...

Possible incorrect number of sent emails reporting
Hi, I have a strange issue - 'possibly'. I have a 2 week report from a client's SBS 2003 Exchange server, and I see a spike in the number of sent emails from a particular user - over 800 sent over a 2 week period. Since that time, we have turned on SMTP logging and upon reviewing a recent 5 day report from that log, I only count around 75 emails sent from the same user over those 5 days. My client wants to know why those 800+ emails are showing from the Exchange server performance report, and if that report is incorrect. The trends in the outgoing SMTP logging for that server ...

Historical tracking of customer item number?
We have a situation where our customers are continually changing their SKU numbers for similar items, yet want us to print them on invoices. We thought about using the Sales Item Cross Reference Table (SOP60300), but it doesn't track historical values (if we'd need to reprint an invoice, we'd only get the current values in the table, not the ones that originally printed). Conditional formatting: adding extra conditions

Find the last number in a row
Hi, I have lots of rows of data which are either a value between 50 and 200 (e.g 115) or "0". Each column is a specific week of the year, ie from 1/1998 to 52/2009, so the values run from left to right giving a number for each week, and when there is not an entry for that week, there is a "0". I need a formula to find the last number entry of each row. Automatic numbering in excel
Hello, I am very novice in excel, and have encountered the following problem: I have a file with a few tables (I use page breaks between 2 tables). The first column of each table is a serial number column. So I want this column to automatically start from number 1 (not including the first row, which is a title row), and keep going, until a page break is encountered (but not when a regular page ends). How can I do this? I want it of course to handle new lines as well (every line that I add or remove from a table should change all serial numbers as needed). thanks, -- dshemesh Hi dsheme...
