Formatting cells

I have a seniority roster of personnel. It has five colums and 30 rows. The
borders of the cells are formatted.....some thin some bold. Lets say that
today, there are 15 rows with info in them to represent 15 people . I now
need to move the bottom 5 rows down one row to make room for another person
in proper seniority position. When I cut/paste the 25 cells I lose some of
the formatting and have to go back and insert lines where they have
disappeared. How can I lock the formatting of the border while still being
able to edit the cell content?

Instead of cutting and pasting simply select 5 rows and Insert Row.

hi
if you are only adding 1 row (or maybe more) and want the formating to "fill
in" in between, don't use cut/paste.
cut/paste does exactly what it says....cuts all data AND formating and
pastes it where ever you say. it does not fill in any "gaps".
instead use add row(s).
high light the area(rows) you wish to add a row(s) then....
2003 on the menu bar....Insert>rows
this will drag the formating down.
keyboard shortcut = Ctrl + Plus sign
Ctrl + Minus sign = delete high lighted row(s).
OR same for add/delete high lighted column(s).
this will drag formating across.

My Data Series contains blanks as the result of formula calculations. The location and number of blanks can change with each recalculation as input criteria change. It possible to add two hyperlinks into a cell? No. One hyperlink per cell. But you could cheat.
