to make changes or additions, but often it is always open by a user. I am
wondering if there is a way to have Access automatically close on the users
pc after a set period of inactivity?

Typically this is caused when records were saved without some "default"
information that the forms wants in there. This could have been from
integration or data saved prior to the form being updated.

I have an excel file with last name, first address city state in each column.
I want to prepare a two column report with each persons name first then
address then phone. Can't remember how to print out a different view of
excel. Making it look more like a two column word document.

I'm running an Exchange Server 2000, with mostly Outlook 2000
clients. I seem to be having a problem getting the GAL to update
properly. All the users I've added in the past 3 weeks don't show up.

The file you need is your Personal Folders file (*.pst) It's where all the
mail, calendar, contacts etc are stored.

I need to change the colour of a CELL in a word form depending on the
seletion of a Dropdown form called "Select Level" which provides 4 differing
levels to choose from.

Sounds like you are using a custom add-in or ISV integration. I would check
with that vendor first...

Is there a way to create a list so that when the logged in user creates a
new item, it automatically insert's their user name into a column? I'm
creating a time entry list, and don't want the users to have to type their
name in every time they add a time record.
The controller will review this list once a week and create reports based on
the user, client, etc.

I have a data collection spreadsheet laid out like a form for multipl
users; each user will do a save as to create hundreds of records o
copies of this form. We are using the data collected to build an Exce
database. Currently we are manually keying the data from the form
into a single spreadsheet (the database). Is there a way to automat
the transfer of the data from the forms into the database? Also, eac
record will have a unique ID number. We are working in MS Excel 2002.

I have been given a project where I have to create a chart on a form and
duplicate it on a report.
There are three dates that are sequential that need to be charted for each

Select a chart. Go to Chart menu > Chart Type > Custom Types tab. Click User
Defined button, select Default under Chart Type, and click Delete button.
This resets the default to the original (default) default chart type.

Just purchased our CRM package had a developer customize it. For phase II, we
want to have our employees be able to enter their time into the system for
payroll/service reporting purposes. Will we need to purchase a license for
every employee even all they will be doing is entering in their time? Thanks
