Exporting One File to Two Others

Here's the situation - hopefully someone can answer my question or come up
with a better idea.

My daughter owns a used book store and has and inventory of over 10,000
books.

My thoughts were to have three different files for serch purposes. ie
Title, Auther, Subjuct Matter and add a Referance Number to each book. This
way if a customer askes for a book, the serch would be easy.

The problem lies in the sales. When a customer purchases a book, she would
write down the Referance Number on a sheet of paper then at the end of the
day, enter all the days Reference Number into the file. Then Import this
file into the Title, Author or Subject Matter Files.

This way no matter which way she goes about looking up a certain book
(title, subject or author) her inventory would always be accurate.

Can this be done?

For all the time, effort and frustration you are both going to have, I
recommend you buy Microsoft Access and the book Access for Dummies. You will
be up and running so much faster.

If it must be Excel, use a single file with the data in columns. By the way,
all books except very old one have unique ISBN numbers.

Best wishes

problem with meta file
hi, I need to use MetaFiles to capture my output to a file. I have a Single document and I use MM_HIMETRIC. The problem is that the metafile created is not the same as my output. No texts are displayed correctly, etc. The meta file has problems with the fonts. Any idea? thanks, Behzad Behzad, Some functions asking the CDC for information has no use in metafiles, so if you are, for example, creating font sizes based on the resolution, your metafiles will have errors. Joining two pictures into one and saving
We have two separate pictures that we want to join into one, fitting side by side and not overlaying each other. one processor with multiple core and threads
Hi! If you have a computer with one processor and multiple core and you lock a section is it then possible that two threads can lock this section simultaneously. I mean when you have one processor with multiple core you can have two threads executing simultaneously so this would be possible. What would happen you can't have two threads own the lock to a section of code at the same time. //Tony On May 12, 8:17=A0pm, "Tony Johansson" <johansson.anders...@telia.com> wrote: > If you have a computer with one processor and multiple core and you lock = ...

XP / Office 2007 files write extremely slow to network share (2 mi
My dept recently moved our shared drive from a dated Snap Appliance to an Apple Xserve Raid (OSX 10.4 / Samba 3). We have mostly XP clients running Office 2007 Professional, and Symantec Endpoint 11 by requirement. Since the switch our clients are experiencing very slow save times to the network share (1-2 minutes, sometimes +), specifically when files are opened, edited and saved directly on the share. This was not the norm before the switch. We've found the following while investigating: A) On XP clients: Office 2007 files opened, edited and saved directly on shar...

Cut and Paste Data from Multiple Worksheets to One Worksheet
Hi! I am a teacher and grade tests using excel. I have a master template of my MC test scoring sheet and copy a worksheet for each student and input their data. Once all their answers are inputted, formulas spit out their raw score and percentile, as well as their percentile on all of the tested subject areas of the test (if we were taking a math class for example, it would give students their percentile rank separately for addition problems, subtraction problems and so on). The problem I'm having is created a non-time intensive class summary worksheet. I'd like to have an easy wa...

Problems Moving Database Files
Hi there, yesterday if been trying to perform a pretty usual task: Moving Exchange 2003 Databases (priv+pub edb+stm) files from one HardDisk (with Letter E:) to another HardDisk (with Letter D:) using the SystemManager. How do I arrange certain pages to be two-sided?
I am preparing a handbook for printing and I would like to know if there is a way to set certain pages within the handbook to print two-sided and others to print one-sided. Is there a quick and easy way to do so or am I going to have to add blank pages to the ones I want printed one-sided? Thank you for your help. Booklets are created in multiples of four pages. Decide what page numbers you want blank and leave them that way. converting excel files to excel 2002
When trying to print Excel 1997 files with Excel 2002 program, the page will print correctly until about 3/4 way down the page and at that time the lines do not space correctly and any underlining will run into the line above or below it. How do you correct this problem without having to delete the old file and create a new one?
