Excel 2003 in seperate Window
I am using multiple monitors and would like to to have a seperate workbook
open on either monitor so that i can look at either monitor and see the

I have looked at Tools, Option, View, Show and checked and unchecked
"startup Task Pane" and "windows in Taskbar"

After literally 30 hours of internet search I am asking for help....
I have developed an application in VS2005 + Excel 12.0 (Office 2007). Now,
I learn that some of the client machines will have Excel 11.0 (Office 2003)
and my application will not work.
I have read all about PIAs (2003 and 2007). It seems that If I develop the
application using 11.0, it will work with 12.0. However, how do I do that?

We have wrote a workbook that contains a lot of formulas and Vb code,
we have password protected the Vb code.
All the worksheets are also password protected
the cells that contain forulas are locked to stop them being damaged.
This works fine, problem is when the workbook is opened in read only mode
one worksheet becomes unlocked.
all the reast of the worksheets remain locked
Can anyone tell us how to remedy this problem?

One of our project teams is having saving problems with thier Excel documents.
As these files are legacy and there is a mixture of Excel 97 and 2000 the
files are saved in the '97-2000 & 5.0/95 Workbook' format. The users who have
97 and 2000(Pre SP3) have no prblems with the files. The users who have Excel
2000 SP3 can only make one change to the file and have a successful save. Any
further alterations and Excel crashes during the '5.0/95' portion of the file

I have a MSAccess query which contains some memo fields. I am using Office
links to transfer the data to Excel.
There are about 500 characters in some of the memo fields. All the data is
displayed as expected in the query, but when the data is transferred to
Excel the data in the memo field cells is cut off.
Is there a way to make sure all data from a memo field is transferred to
Excel? ( I would be happy with a limit of even 1000 characters)

fuel in my tank. I have the current volumes and past deliveries set up below.
A2=13485 (current Volume)
A3=4565 (fuel delivery1)

Why does excel put a : (colon) after the file name when
saving an excel document. ex. file.xls:2
This indicates that you have two (or more) windows open viewing the same
worksheet. Close all but one of them to restore Excel to its more normal

I have created a custom switchboard from which numerous reports can be
printed. One of those reports will print mailing labels for member birthday
cards based on a query with a parameter for "month".
My problem is that when the switchboard/form opens it asks for the parameter
(the month needed) and if you don't put the month in it won't open the
switchboard. I want it to ask only if the command button is pressed. The
switchboard has other command buttons but none of the other ones are based on

I have a bar chart that is showing gaps and i don't want them. The select
data > hidden and empty cell button does not give an option to hide gaps. I
think by default they are hidden but if you even click on this to see what it
does the gaps are shown and no way to turn off.
If you hide the actual rows then with the Plot visible cells only
setting on the gaps will be removed.
In xl2007 the setting is on the Select Data dialog, Hidden/empty cells

your Recently used folder was incorrectly pointing at the desktop.
