Excel 2003-provide feedback with sound

Trying to set in the options of MS Excel 2003 "provide feedback with sound",
a message appears, that I have to download the Microsoft Sounds Add-in from
the MS download page. But there is a hint, that this Add-in is only up to
Excel XP and so it is not possible to install this feature. Is there any
other version for MS Excel 2003?

I installed Microsoft Office Sounds and it works in all versions from Excel
97 to Excel 2003. I didn't have to do anything special beyond selecting it
under Options. So it "should" work.

How could you install it on a system where only Excel 2003 is insalled,
because the sounds.exe checks for a version of Excel up to Excel XP. So maybe
it would work, but it is impossible to install! So I would have to install
before an earlier version to make it work... ?!

Outlook 2003 access to Hamster IMAP fails
I was using Outlook 2003 with Hamster Classic 2.0.0.1 Everything was fine until the Microsoft update 2 weeks ago. When I closed Outlook the processor went to 100%. This seems to be a know bug of Hamster 2.0.0.1 based on pasts posts to the Hamster newsgroup. I therefore upgraded Hamster to 2.1.0.11. Now Outlook 2003 continually locks up. There are no problems with Outlook 2002 or any other email client including Thunderbird and Outlook Express. The issue is limited to Outlook 2003. The older version of Hamster did not support IDLE. I believe the problem is connected to IDLE. Is there a w...

New with Outlook 2003 and IMAP
We have just been directed that we have to start using Outlook 2003. When I mark an email for trash or junk, I get a line through the topic and it gets grayed out. Is there a setting I can use that will put the email into trash or junk when I identify it as trash or junk? I am also trying to put my address book together. I need to find a way to have any email coming in with the same address (ex: occc_community@sunyorange.edu) or (staffchair-bounce@ots.sunyorange.edu) be made into a rule and make sure it goes to the appropriate folder. I am setup using an IMAP configuration. Any help would b...

How do I convert Excel 2007 Spreadsheet to Access 2007 database?
I used to be able to conver earlier versions of Excel spreadsheets to MS Access. How do you do this with Excel 2007 & Access 2007? Excel has never been automatically convertible. Word 2003 stops working
Hi folks, Never had a problem with Word 2003 in the 3 years I've had this program. Suddenly, I have issues. A few minutes into opening a Word document, or upon attempted close of the document, I get a popup box with message "Microsoft Office Word has stopped working. A problem caused the problem to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available." When I close the popup, sometimes a new blank "document 1" opens up automatically. This happens with both Word docs and Outlook messages. Don'...

Sum
Hi, I just found this "feature" at Excel formulas today. Please, have a look at: http://danielgudang.multiply.com/journal/item/192 (in portuguese, but images show all) Let me explain: some cell C1 = sum (C2:C5) some cell D1 = sum (D2:D5) some cell E1 = sum (E2:E5) A1 = C1 - D1 - E1 B1 = C1 - (D1 + E1) A1 = B1 ??? Oh, not always! Sometimes A1 will be +0, sometimes -0. Really strange! It's a feature of any application that uses IEEE double precision floating point math (e.g., every commercial spreadsheet I know of). It's the result of having finite precision ...

Embedded Excel worksheet in PowerPoint
I'm working with an embedded excel worksheet in powerponit. The doc is sent to me and if I have to edit the worksheet, I find that some cells have missing characters once I open the worksheet to edit it. It appears that characters beyond some length (256?) are being truncated off. How do I resolve this so I don't have this problem again? Thanks, Barb Reinhardt This kind of problem may occur if the material was inserted into the embedded worksheet via copy/paste from an external sheet. A reliable approach is to open the embedded sheet first, and from that sheet do: File ...

Public Folder replication problems Exchange 2003
We have two Exchange 2003 sites between which we replicate some public folders. This was working fine until recently, when one folder stopped replicating in one direction - i.e. postings made to the replica appear in the original folder, but not vice-versa. At the same time we started receiving numerous 1110 Events: Error 0x4ed occurred while writing per-user information for a.user@company.co.uk on database "First Storage Group\Public Folder Store (SERVER)". The event is repeated multiple times - I assume once for each user, though I haven't actually checked. If neces...

Exchange 2003 Question #6
What would be the implications of installing an Exchange 2003 server on my network, when an Exchange 2000 server already exists? TIA, James A part of the Installation and setup process is to prepare AD for the Exchange implementation (forestprep and domainprep). If you are attempting to install Exchange into the same AD, then it would assume that the same Exchange Org will be used for the new installation of Exchange, causing the 2 to be semi connected (also would depend on site configuration, etc) When you are mentioning "on my network" - are we assuming that you are using ...

Exchange 2003 /Exchweb/Cabs folder

NDR in 2 Exchange Servers 2003 on 2 domains
Hi, 2 Exchange servers 2003. 2 domains. a.fr and b.fr. The Active Directory domain is xxx.local. Each domain is hosted on a distinct server, on the same Exchange organization. When an email arrives from outside the non delivery receipt is sent from postmaster@xxx.local. As almost every MTA now is checking if the 'from' belongs to a valid domain, this does not work. It is possible to change the NDR originator to postmaster@a.fr or postmaster@b.fr. But this is valid for the whole organisation. And I need the a.fr server to answer with postmaster@a.fr and the b.fr server answer from po...
