Drop Down List Protection from Changes
When protecting a sheet, I know you can prevent changes to cell content but
how can you prevent a change in a drop down list? Once I protect the sheet,
I can still change a drop down list. How can I prevent this? Thank you!
Is the drop down list part of validation / combo box? If it is is it linked
to a list in an array in the same workbook? You can protect it by locking
the cells that make up the list array. Then apply worksheet protection.

I'm looking for an Excel template that lists every month of the year with
room to list weekly, monthly and quarterly meetings, including some detail
for each meeting. Probably would need to be landscape oriented. The main
intent is to give the person using it an idea of upcoming meetings, the

Since you don't specify otherwise, start with the basics:
1- Make sure Office is fully updated to 12.2.4
2- Make sure OS X is fully updated to 10.6.3
3- Repair Disk Permissions
4- Restart your Mac
Confirming all of that it will make it possible to determine how to approach
the problem. Until that's all done it's pointless to chase symptoms.

If the Hotmail account is set as your primary store, could it be that you
have AutoArchive enabled?

Hi all - I am using Vista Business and Publisher 2007 from the Office 2007
Small Business package.
No matter what type of publication or template I use I can only print single
copies. Most recently I tried to print 30 copies of a single page flyer and
had to do it a single copy at a time.
If I go to File|Print and set the number of copies to 30, I still get a
single copy only.
Does anyone have any thoughts?
Is your printer driver current? What is the default in the printing preferences
in the control panel printer folder?

Can someone help with code that changes the "save As" file name to
combination of the original File Name + the contents of a cell, an

Cells B1= Location
Cell C1 = Date in format 3-5-2004
Cell A1 = concatenate(B1,C1)
Fle Name will therefore be "Timesheet Location 3-5-2004"

I am trying to allow someone to select "Green", "Yellow" or "Red" from a list
and the cell to display a green/yellow/red icon appropriately. Or, if
possible, the user could just select the icon (instead of selecting text).
Is this possible?
Use Data Validation for the list. Type in Red, Yellow, Green as the list.
This give the user the list to select from.
Use Conditional Formatting for the fill part. Set three conditions, If Cell
Value-"Green" (select a green fill), etc..

I have two computers, and both use Outlook 2000 for email. I don not use an Exchange server - email
is by POP3/SMTP.
Both computers collect the same email by POP3, and are set up to leave messages on the server for 30
days so nothing is missed on either PC.
This works well, but the only problem is that when I send an email, it is only in the Sent Items
fold of the PC that I used to send the email.

Outlook is deleting past calendar appointments after approx six weeks. How
do I change setting to keep for a longer period of time? thx.
Check your archive settings. You didn't indicate your version of Outlook so
the instructions are approximate:
Tools > Options > Other > Auto Archive.

set of columns is sorted in ascending date order the other in descending date
order. When I enter data into the last row of Sheet 1, I need the data in
that row in columns A, B, C and D to be copied into Sheet 2 columns A, C, D
and E in a newly inserted row 14. Is this possible with the use of a macro? I
can find the last cell in Sheet 1, but then need to go up one row and back to
column A. I am having difficulty with that.
