Primary Axis(X) Formating Issue

I'm using a custom type chart (Lines on 2 Axes) and I'm using two different
ranges for the Category (X) axis labels and the Second category (X) axis
labels in order to display some additional information on the chart. When I
say two different ranges I mean the rows are the same, but the columns are
different.

The problem I'm having is I want to use a custom format (dd-MMM-yy) to
display the dates, but when I do so the dates have format MMM-yy-dd. The
only way I can get the dates to display accurately is to use the Date format
with the * (either *03/14/01 or *March 14, 2001).

By the way, I don't have any trouble using the "dd-MMM-yy" format if the
Category (X) axis labels and the Second category (X) axis labels refer to the
same range.

Does anyone have an explanation as to why I can't get the desired format
for the dates when the Category (X) axis labels and the Second category (X)
axis labels refer to different ranges (rows are the same, columns are
different)?

Thanks in advance,
Raul

I failed to mention that I'm using named ranges in the charts and the named
ranges use the offset function.

Category (X) axis labels:
=WaterQuality_KilnWTS_Data.xls!ScrollLabelsScrlngDAXChrt

Second category (X) axis labels:
=WaterQuality_KilnWTS_Data.xls!ScrollLabelsScrlngDAXChrt2

ScrollLabelsScrlngDAXChrt:
=OFFSET(All_Data!$AJ$5, ScrlngDAXChrt!$B$2,0,ScrlngDAXChrt!$B$3,1)

ScrollLabelsScrlngDAXChrt2:
=OFFSET(All_Data!$AI$5, ScrlngDAXChrt!$B$2,0,ScrlngDAXChrt!$B$3,1)

Sorry,
Raul

I didn't think it would either, but I'm at a loss for an explanation so
thought I'd mention it.

How do I start the line graph at 0 on the x axis instead of 1?
When I type the data into the spreadsheet, it starts at 1, not 0. Then when I make a graph, it puts the first y value at 1 on the x axis. Is there a way to make my first y value start at x=0? I have microsoft Excel 2003 Hi, Sounds like you have a Line chart, which uses categorical x axis rather than value, and use have not specified the x's. By default the point index starts at 1. formula- sum?subtotal? issues
I am not a regular user of excel or familiar with the formulas, but I think I am trying to do something fairly simple- with no success. I have a row that specifies the square footage of our rooms within our building. These rooms are broken down into "groups". I used the SUM formula to find out the square footage of the rooms within a particular GROUP and now want to list the square footage of the entire facility by using SUM or SUBTOTAL, by adding the subtotals I have for the groups. However when I do I get an error. I have 36 GROUP'S that I am trying to add together and the tota...

Using VLookup and format the #N/A result
I would like to format an #N/A result to a blank cell or with a 0 when instead of the #N/A. Can anyone assist in how to accomplish that? Thanks! Absolute cell formatting
I have a workbook that is set up that when I enter a specific value ex:e18 in one cell it will give me the coresponding number ie:800-252-6030 in a different cell. I need to add additonal numbers and "shortcuts" to the workbook. HOW? Please be very specific and step by step Click in one of those 'different cells' that takes on a corresponding value. Chances are there's a formula in that cell that makes reference to cell e18 (maybe a vlookup?). You probably will be able to copy the formula(s) that cause the corresponding values to appear from their current lo...

Formatting an Excel column as a hyperlink
In my application I create and format Excel files using Excel automation. Is there a way to format a column in a spreadsheet as a hyperlink using Visual Basic? For example if a column contains the text j:\images\myimage.tif, can this be formatted as a hyperlink when the Excel file is being created and formatted? Bill Pete, I forgot to mention that I'm creating the Excel spreadsheets using VBA inside of my Access application, so that's why I'm asking it here. I'll also try the Excel newsgroup as you suggested. Bill "Pete D." <pduffy211@CAPS_AREcox.n...
