Change colouirs in stacked bar chart
Up to now I've been happy with the colours Excel decides to use for each
element of my stacked bar chart. But more recently the colours of latest
additions to the tops of the bars are very similar to the ones directly
below and difficult to discern. How do you change a specific colour/s?
try right clicking on the series you want to change, then select
'format data series'
'patterns tab' on the form
and choose a colour under 'area

i need some help!! i need to add error bars to a bar chart, and each value in
the series has a different standard error which has to be added. any ideas
how i can do this?? each time i try and change the error bar they all change
in the series!

On the Error bar dialog is the option to use a range as the values.
This can be used for both positive and negative values.

I have a pipe chart tracking resin colors. It would be nice to assign each
pie piece the color it represents. For instance, yellow resin has been
assigned a blue pie piece, blue has been assigned a purple pie piece, etc. I
have 13 colors to track. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Each time I try to make my row height an exact size it rounds to the nearest
..25. I am using Microsoft Office XP and I have all of the latest updates.
Each .25 is equal to 1 pixel on the display. And the display cannot go less
than 1 pixel. So you won't be able to get a row height other than in .25

You cannot change this default behaviour.

I need to call upon the experts here for a problem that has left me
scratching my head.
I have opened an existing Excel file that has a line chart with 3 data
series and is plotted by date on the X axis. The originator of the chart has
accessed Data Labels for one of the data series, which allows text input at
that line - and can be a different value (or blank) for each data point in
the series. The Format Data Series Window - Data Labels tab shows the box
"Automatic Text" selected for this series.

I have set up a custom filter to hide anything with a date in the field. It
has been working fine until today and it stopped filtering. The only thing I
can see is when it stopped filtering the line numbers turned black instead of
blue. How do I correct this problem? It has hide all but 28 lines of 121,
does it stop filtering after a certain number has been hidden? Any help
would be greatly appreciated.

I have a workbook that has several charts on a server share on my network, i
have copied the charts to a new workbook on a pc at a different office.
My problem is the charts are not updating while the workbook is open.
The master works fine and when data is changed the server graphs change but
the graphs at my office do not update.
Any ideas on this would be much appreciated.

I want to have a table which is a fixed size and the scroll bar can b
used to move to columns across to view all data.

I have a regular clustered column chart that shows compliance on turning in
Each manager is supposed to turn in 4 audit forms each month (with an
optional 5th week). Each form has 5 audits on it so that's 5 audits from each
manager each week.
I have a little chart that shows how many they turn in each week with a
horozontal line for the goal (240 for the month)
on the left side of the chart I have 5 text boxes: week 1, week 2, etc
It looks great and is easy to see at a glance who has turned in what they
should when they should.

tact. Is there a way to do that. The other worksheets will change
periodically, so it has to be setup to allow for those changes/additions. I
have no idea how to approach this or what to look up to find help. Any
better would be if you had only one master sheet. any way to change
