Adding additional data to a pivot chart
I am trying to add a line or some sort of note to a pivot chart and I'm
wondering how to do it. I will have multiple items but the note only
occurs on one date for each particular item.
For example, let's say that I am keeping track of when I buy an item
(month and year) and when I sell an item (month and year). I want to
add some sort of note automatically to my pivot charts indicating when
I put these items on sale (month and year). For example, maybe I put
all RC Cars on sale May-01 and all airplanes on sale Oct-05. How can I
get the sale date into my pivot chart?

I have a automated chart I create every month. Sometimes there is no data for
that month. I'd like the chart to still show that month without the line
dropping to zero.
I have the data below the chart coming over as blank by formatting the cell
to "number" and setting it at "0;-0;;". I was hoping that there is an easy
way to have the line in the chart drop off also when there is no data to come

With the chart selected choose Tools, Options, Chart, and chose Plot empty
cells as Not plotted.

puts a label above each column showing the exact value. At the moment the Y
axis shos all the trailing zeros behind each million value, somethiong like:

When charting a large range of cells, which have been grouped in sets of 12
for convenience and easy review, the chart using this data is blank. If I
ungroup the cells, the chart shows the data.
Is there a way around this? Why can't a chart show the data even if the
data is hidden?
I don't know what you mean by "grouped" cells. Are you hiding cells? By
default Excel doesn't display hidden data on a chart.
To change this behavior: Select the chart, go to Tools menu > Options >
Chart, and uncheck Plot Visible Cells Only.

You can do this with a Line chart or XY scatter, even Column charts or an
Area chart. If you are asking is there a special chart name for this type of
chart, you might check Jon Poltier's website. If you are asking does Excel

Hi - I have a chart saved as a template and everything is formatted correctly
when applied to a new chart, except the chart and axis titles. The category
and value axis values maintain the formatting that was stored with the chart.
It's just the titles for the chart, category axis and value axis that I have
to always reformat.

I am using a column chart in Excel. The chart is currently
displaying a horizontal line when there are zeros for the data. It is
working as it was designed to do... however I would like to make the
graph not display a line when there is all zero data. Is there an easy

In place of zeros use =NA() This displays as #N/A and these points are

When we tag an email to a CRM (3.0) object in Outlook while working
off line and error occurs the next time you attempt to synch. The
error shows the tagged email with the option of going on line and

percentage of the total of that stack. Unfortunately there is no option
to use the percentages in the data labels.

and the points awarded. Everything works fine, EXCEPT....

problem by using .01, .07 and .09, but I'd like something more
elegant. I can enter number 01, but VLOOKUP returns the result from
ZER0 and the array sort puts the 3 cars last. I also tried letter Ox

I created and saved a document in Word on my MacBook, and also saved a PDF of it for printing. Even though I can't see Word's paragraph/formatting marks in either saved document, the marks appear on the printed document. Is there anyway to fix this?

I just created a new system for a user and she was able to copy a jpeg into
the text portion of an email, but now it becomes an attachment instead.
