I have created graphs and added a trendline and then went to options
and selected to see on the graph the linear formula and R2.
I need to use the linear formula in a table elsewhere in the
spreadsheet. Is there a way to to reference the formula directly so
that when the variables in the data table are changed that it
automatically filters through to the graph and the new linear formula
is then reflected in the table elsewhere?

I want to be able to add horizontal lines to my chart, in this case at 4% and
6% on the y-axis. The solutions I've seen so far suggest to add a series at
these points. The problem is that when I add a seires, my legend shows the
new series when I don't really want them to. Is there a really simple way
that I've overlooked so that I can just add a line at one y-value and all the
x values on the graph and not have it appearing in the legend?

Cannot work out how to make a simple combination graph like it was easy to do
in 2003. Doesn't seem to be any help on this.
Combination charts are still possible in xl2007. But the default ones
presented in xl2003 have gone.
Basically you have to create the combination yourself.
Create the chart in the style that most series will be. Then selected a
series that you want to change the chart type of and then press the Chart
Type button in the Change Chart Type button within the Type Group in the
Design tab of the Chart Tools contextual tab.

I want to use the drop lines with a XY scatter chart, but unfortunately that
option is not available under 'Format Data Series'---->'Options'.
I know that this drop line option is available with other chart types like
'Line', problem is I can't use the Line chart type since it can't correcty
represent my data set.

XY charts don't have drop lines, but you can substitute an error bar. Double
click on the series, click on either Error Bar tab, and select a negative

Try: Tools | Options; open View tab; locate Objects group in middle of

Hello all, I have a list of dates and times ( listed as 1/18/2006 1:30:10
AM in cell) that indicate a sale that took place. What I am trying to do is
create a chart from this list that indicate the number of sales per day. I
would like the chart to have the days of the month accross the bottom and a
bar indicating how many sales per that day. Can anybody help me with this?
Whenever i try and use the bar chart it shows me a cumulative total
(includes the previous sales from previous days).
Also, I am using Excel 2003.

I have a spreadsheet with 50 tabs. Each tab has a 6 month audit score that

There is a bar graph linked to these cells on each tab. What I am trying to
do is group the tabs together, then delete the MAR score, shift all cells to
the left, then add a SEP score.
The problem is... when I try to do that, the graph changes to only show APR
MAY JUN JUL & AUG. I can't get it to automatically add SEP.
I could do it individually but that would be very time consuming to do it

formulas from the PivotTable tools but I can't seem to
make it work.

I want to make a graph that has the x-axis labels a full 24 hour period. I
have data points at random times during the day and I want to express that in
the graph. For example, if I have 5 at 7:00, 2 at 7:40, and 3 at 11:00, I

You cannot 'flip' a Line chart. In a Line chart the x axis has category
values and if flipped this would give category values to the y axis which
must have numeric values.

I am currently using Excel & PPt 2000 and cannot figure out how to control
which rows of data are displayed as a bar or line in a combunation chart. In
PPt it combo bar/line chart defaults to the last row only as a line and in
Excel it seems to have half as a bar/ half as a line.
In the chart, select the series you want changed. Then, select Chart |
Chart Type... and pick the desired type+subtype.
When a single series is selected the chart type choice applies only to
that one series.
