Using Outlook client for CRM 3.0 in a remote office

I need to set up access to the corporate CRM from several remote offices. All
of them have VPN connections (Windows or Checkpoint). What are the steps
required to configure remote clients to be able to use CRM features in
Outlook.
Remote users can connect to CRM through Internet Expolorer.

Thanks.

Assuming they are connected, the isntallation over a VPN connection should
not be any different than a typicaly installation. If the connection is
slow though, the first synch & Go Offline process will be noticiably slower
though.

There are error messages while starting Outlook. I will post them tomorrow.
Assuming we are using Windows VPN, are there any other settings that have to
be configured?

Shouldn't be. But you may need to verify the DNS resolution of the server
name. It's possible the name resolution isn't working properly over the
VPN.

There was a problem with DNS. It was resolved by adding CRM site in the hosts
file.
Hoverever, I still cannot install Outlook client. After 2 open cases (one
with the CRM team, another one with the MS Tech Support), I was able to
connect to our CRM site without being prompted. But that is not good enough.
A CRM support team member pointed out that, after running a SET command on
the remote client (connected via Windows VPN), he did not see that a client
was authenticated to AD. That, according to him, will prevent from Outlook
client installations.
What do I do now? I cannot have a domain controller in every remote office
(some of them have 3-4 persons only). How other people handle a situation
similar to mine?
It comes down to a question: How can I authenticate a remote user to AD?

Thanks!!!

I am having the same issues with some remote users. This may not work in your
case, but I'm wondering if I had my sales folks send in thier laptops,
configure the Outlook client at HQ, then send them back. When they open
Outlook today they are prompted to login, I would expect this would allow the
Outlook CRM client to function. Not the best solution, but it might work.

Using part of a cell in a chart title
I have a chart which should get a title. However, this should be partly be used from a cell e.g. "counted with 5%" 5% should be taken from the cell and used in the title. Is this possible? upgrade from mac office to pc?
Can you upgrade from Office 2004 for Mac to Office 2007 for PC for the lower upgrade price? Or do I have to basically start over and buy Office again for $250 - $300 or whatever it is, if I switch from Mac and buy a new PC? (I have Office '04 on my iMac. I'm weighing buying either a new iMac or a new Dell. The cost of buying Office again makes the inferior-but- cheaper Dell almost as expensive as a new Mac, alas.) Outlook 2003 and "Check Names"
Hi, We are testing Outlook 2003 at our office now and there is one very frustrating "feature" that is bugging all of us. When we create a new e-mail message and type in the first name of a person from the global address book and hit ctrl- k to check the name...we get a response that Outlook doesn't recognize the name and there are "no suggestions". The only way Check Name will successfully resolve the name is if we type it last name first (ie, Gates, Bill). This was not the case in Office XP or Outlook 2000. You could search by first name (or partial first name)...
