Unexpected Error when sending an email

Hello all,

We're using v1.2 and installed SFO. We are getting an "Unexpected Error"
when we send an email either through CRM or in Outlook. I'm not sure where
to look to find out the source of the problem. Anyone else encounter this
and have a solution?

Would really appreciate any help on this.

Thanks

Richard.

Richard - there should be an error written to the Application Log on the CRM
server - can you post it's contents?

Assuming you are using the CRM Exchange Router software, it's quite likley a
permission problem on the router's web site.

Hi Dave,

You may be on to something but nothing appears in the Application Log on
either the CRM server or the Exchange server. Yes, we are using the Exchange
Router as well. I have looked at the IIS logs for the CRM site and have
noticed that there are a bunch of 401 errors but nothing that sheds any
light on how to address them. This does work in my test environment and
there isn't much to installing the Router so I don't know where else to
look.

Thanks

Richard

Richard;

try this out:

On the CRM server, have a look at the value in the following reg
key..[HKLM\Software\Microsoft\MSCRM\mailserverurl]

There should be two entries in that key, a default and the other should be
the name of your exchange server. Copy the string data value from the
exchange server entry.

Then, on the CRM server, paste that URL into a browser and see what you get
returned. if you get a 401 or other browser error, then you will need to
resolve that. if you get some text back that says something like
"improperly formed SOAP request" then that is a good sign.

Hi Dave,

Actually, I did just that. And found that SSL was enabled for the Connector
Virtual Directory. Disabled SSL and now I can send email.

Thanks for your help.
