SFO Client Synch Issues

I know that this has been posted before, but I figured I would it again. We
are running MSCRM Server 1.2 with SQL Server 2000 Enterprise Edition. The
Outlook clients are 2k and better with all needed patches. On a handful of
laptops running Windows XP SP2 the SFO client will not go offline, and the
following error comes up when you try to.

"CRM Sales for Outlook can not go offline. The Microsoft CRM Server was not
found."

I can ping the server by IP and name and do a succesful nslookup so DNS is
OK. On my laptop it was working fine until SP2 was installed. Once I tried to
go back on-line it would not? I can see my instance of SQL from the SQL
server hosting the CRM databases. I've uninstalled SP2 reapplied SP1a,
uninstalled SFO client and SQL, and so on. I'm at a complete loss, and find
it unreal that MS does not have any decent information on this as I'm not the
only one who has had the problem.

Can anyone provide me with any troubleshooting steps, or can I chaulk this
up to wait until the next release?

Yes, patch has been applied to Server and client systems. I was hoping the
patches would at least fix the issue of returning to the home page on the CRM
site and it did not even do that! Sorry for the frustration, just for the $$$
we paid for CRM you would think these rediculous issues would not occur.

Sean

Hi Sean,

I have a similar error message and mine reads "CRM Sales for Outlook can not
go offline. The logged on user does not have the sufficient privileges, or
the Microsoft CRM Server was not found." when I tried going off line on SFO.

When I started the "Microsoft CRM Security Service" on the server, I was
able to go off line on SFO.

Kim,

I appreciate the tip, but the security service is started as I can acecss
the site through IE without a problem. Also there are around a half dozen XP
users running SP1 that can use SFO with no problems.

Sean

Outlook Client makes Settings & Customization menus disappear
Hi all, I've noticed that now I've installed the Outlook Client for MS CRM 3.0, my Settings & Customization menus disappear in the web client. exmerge calendar send on behalf issue
Hello - I migrated an exchange box using the exmerge utility and have noticed that when a user tries to change an appointment that was on the old box and has invitees, it will not send an update as there is a permission error with send on behalf. This is not a shared calendar, just the users own calendar that was imported from their previous mailbox on the other exchange server. The only scenario that I can figure that would cause something like this is is the calendar appointment is tied down with the previous user and is not associated as the organizer with the new appointment. Frustrating Backcolor issue
Hi All, On my forms in the database I'm working on, all the combo boxes backcolor are transparent on moving focus to another control. No matter what I try I can't get it to stay the set backcolor whether I leave it as default or set a color. The moment focus moves out of the combo box it's backcolor is that of the form detail. Am I missing something? I'm probably misunderstanding your question, but it sounds like you need to set the combo box's Back Style from Transparent to Normal. issue with serial port on module, updating form
Hello, Ive created a serial port instance on a module. In the same module I have the sub data_received. Now I'd like to update a control in a form, how can I do it? Thanks in advance You need to use Control.BeginInvoke or .Invoke to update the UI via a Delegate. You can download the VB2005 Terminal example from my website, which illustrates this. old server removed, now a new synch issue
Hello folks. Today I finally moved the last mailboxes and public folders off our old exchange 2003 server to a new one. I followed all the KB's I could find about properly decomissioning the server, and then uninstalled Exchange 2003 on that system. Since then, all my Outlook 2003 clients are getting the following synch issue whenever you first open outlook with cached mode. And I've tried recreating my profile, that doesn't help at all. This has to be related to something I missed. Anyone have suggestions? 15:54:03 Synchronizer Version 11.0.5604 15:54:03 Synchronizin...

Crosstab Row Heading Issues
Hi, I have Access 2003 and when I do a cross tab I cannot bring in more than 3 field values for row headings - my coworker (who has Access 97) can bring in >3 row headings. Is this a paremter setting in Access 2003? Thanks, Mike I believe that the Wizard can't handle more than 3; however, you can do more with SQL. Try creating a crosstab with the three headings, them modifying it at SQL level to add more. -- Jerry Whittle, Microsoft Access MVP Light. Strong. Cheap. Pick two. Keith Bontrager - Bicycle Builder. CRM SFO, What Will Happen w/ This Contact Upon Syching?
I have a user who is currently offline. He is entering/populating a CRM contact from within Outlook -- The contact has a green icon and has a 'Open CRM Contact Forrm' button upon opening the contact. If the user populates the "Company" field for this contact (performed by clicking and typing) from the all contact view and not upon double-clicking the contact, what will happen if anything when he goes back online? He's worried something may get overwritten or duplicated. Thanks! Anyone? "JawKnee" wrote: > I have a user who is currently offline. He...
