Re-assign account issues - MSFT Employees & MSCRM Partners - Please READ

Scenario: Sales rep leaves the company - accounts need to be shuffled
around - some to new rep and some to other reps - typical account
realignment - happens in just about any sales org (for many
reasons)nothing unique about this - I reassign accounts and of course
any items/objects that are not completed, closed, etc...move with the
account to the now owner - as it should - Any cases with a resolved
status - stay with the respective case owner - as it should - makes
sense, right? - The big problem comes in here and it makes no sense -
Orders, Opportunities, Quotes, and Appointment activities that HAVE A
CLOSED or COMPLETED, or SUBMITTED status CHANGE OWNERS!!!! This makes
no sense whatsoever....I can't think of one good business reason why
you would ever what to automatically have these types of objects change
owners when the account is reassigned. It is baiscally changing
history. This about it - Sales rep A schedules and actually goes on the
appt then completes an appointment in CRM - but, CRM decides later when
the account is reassigned to sales rep B that sales rep B is the one
that should be listed as the one that went on the appt instead of sales
rep A. Same with opportunites, orders, etc.

I know this topic has been covered in prior threads but it is such a
critical issue to us and many of our clients (and I believe it has to
be a major issue for many other partners and clients out there) that
the logic behind it needs to be addressed by someone in the know. I
know that some of the MSFT CRM staff monitor this newsgroup and I'm
asking them to reply since I am not able to get any satisfaction from
MSCRM support.

If there is ANY direction on how we can deal with this issue it needs
to be put forth. Thanks to any an all who provide input.

We observe the same issue on this one, especially on the Order/Invoice 
objects area - hopefully v2.0 will give more setup options on reassignment 
behavior.

Quick note:  We didn't have issues with "Completed" activities changing 
ownership - it retained the previous owner info on our v1.2 environment when 
reassigning Accounts/Contacts.

We experienced the same, as well as closed cases being reassigned.

Indeed, it does need to be addressed.  A workaround is desparately needed.
We have many accounts that are assigned to our "Integration" user but cannot
be reassigned to their proper owners due to this issue.  Frankly, this is
one of the issues that is a deal-breaker and may permanently delay our
upgrade to CRM 2005.

We don't have the issues with Cases with status "Resolved" being reassigned.  
Resolved cases' owner remained the same.

Have v1.2 updates been applied?

We're on 1.2.  Off the top of my head, I'm not sure which updates since then
we've applied.

I attempted the workaround for the problem with duplicate accounts that consists of Enabling Synchronization using the Deluxe Portfolio Manager on MoneyCentral and reading in the *.mny file. Unfortunately, although this did initiate a Sync with Money 2005 and it updated my portfolio information it also created the duplicate MSN Billpay account. I still have two checking accounts, one that was always pre-existing, and a new one that BillPay created. Subform issue
I have tblRemodelInfo that holds info about all the remodel projects that we've done in our stores. On tabbed FrmStoreInformation it displays static information about the store (address, sqft, etc) and uses SubFrmRemodelInfo and SubFrmCosts on separate tabs to display information about remodels and their costs in a particular store. The problem is that when a record is added to SubFrmRemodelInfo, you have to leave the master record and return to it in order to be able to add the associated costs in SubFrmCosts. Unable to re-install Money Deluxe 2004
I recently had to reformat my hard drive. My version of Money 2004 was a downloaded trial which I later purchased. After re-installing MM2004 I could not access the program because it "appeared" that the trial period had expired. Recipients not receiving mail, not in postmaster account either
I have several recipients that are not receiving mail from "good" senders, and the mail is not dropping into the Postmaster mailbox (which is set as an SMTP alias on the Administrator account). Downloaded documents
Yesterday I opened a document from mail by just 'clicking' it open (as in, I didn't 'save as'). I worked on it all day and kept saving it, presuming it was in my downloads folder. Is there a way to recover my old emails and outlook data? I tried to open the old outlook files but it doesn't seem to load anything. I tried to repair the inbox using the repair tool with no luck. I have a user who is on Exchange 2003 using OL2003. User uses "read receipt" functionality for most emails they send out. Money 2005 auto-entering transactions in other accounts via transf
Not sure how to sum this up. But: I have checking account A and B at the same bank. I download all the transactions. MS money balances and bank balances match. My transactions include transfers from A to B. When I reconcile my downloaded transactions, and categorise the transfers as actual transfers, Money will add a transaction on the other side. Outlook continually propting for autodiscover password, need to re
Outlook 2010 is continually popping up a credentials box that's asking me over and over to enter a password for an autodiscovery process, but the server (autodiscover.ihostexchange.com) is not the server associated with my account.
