Outlook Client install problem

Client did the following:

1. Accidentally tried installing the "full" Outlook client on a desktop.
Somehow the install failed.

2. Did a correct install of the "light" client. But received the "can not
connect to CRM" error when opening Outlook.

3. Uninstalled and tried to reinstall the Outlook desktop client and
received this error:

"Action Microsoft.Crm.Setup.Common.Analyzer+CollectAction failed. Fatal
error during installation"

We can not get it past this error. Any help on this would be appreciated.

Thanks,
-Rick M

Rick,

I think that you're missing the web client piece of the install. You'll have
to clear the trusted Intranet zone in the browser of all CRM-related
websites. I'd also clear out stored passwords under 'User Accounts > Manage
Passwords' in the Control Panel. Then, you'll have to connect to the website
from the user's computer using their credentials to get onto CRM (make sure
that remember my password is checked). Then, you'll have to re-add the
CRM-related sites to the Intranet zone again. I think that once you complete
these steps you should be 'good to go.'

I have a similar message only mine says after the +CollectAction failed. %1
is not a valid Win32 application. This install is on a Windows XP Pro box
with Outlook 2003. I can connect to the Website for CRM with no problem and
I do not have any cahced passwords or sites entered in my trusted sites.

Any ideas?

TIA

I downloaded a new client ISO from Microsoft and burned to disk. Install
went flawless. I guess my media was corrupt.

Outlook 2003 and "Check Names"
Hi, We are testing Outlook 2003 at our office now and there is one very frustrating "feature" that is bugging all of us. When we create a new e-mail message and type in the first name of a person from the global address book and hit ctrl- k to check the name...we get a response that Outlook doesn't recognize the name and there are "no suggestions". The only way Check Name will successfully resolve the name is if we type it last name first (ie, Gates, Bill). This was not the case in Office XP or Outlook 2000. You could search by first name (or partial first name)...

Outlook 2003
Hello, we have one client pc with Outlook 2003 where the following problem occurs: if a mail is replied from a user created sub folder of the inbox, the reply will not appear in sent mails, but will end up in the same sub folder, sender and recipient appear as identical. The mail goes out properly though, it's just that Outlook sets internally sender = recipient and bounces the reply back to the subfolder in which the original mail is stored. This happens on a Win 2000 machine with SP4 and all updates, the other clients use Outlook 2000 or XP and there is no such problem. There are no ru...
