Message delivery failed while delivering to the remote domain hotm

People can send mails from ms crm to other people within the domain, but
when they send a mail to a hotmail domain for instance, that mail never
reaches the recepient.

On the Crm Server, the event log shows this message:

Message delivery to the host '65.54.244.40' failed while delivering to the
remote domain 'hotmail.com' for the following reason: The remote server did
not respond to a connection attempt.

What could be the reason. Exchange specialists say it has nothing to do with
exchange, but all with Ms Crm. The mails never reach the exchange server, in
none of the exchange server's logging those mails are found.

Do you have the SMTP service installed on your CRM server. If not you
probably need it.

If you do have SMTP service installed check the C:\Inetpub\mailroot
queue ad badmail directories. If there are files in there then SMTP
cannot send out. You will need to set the smarthost in SMTP to the
name or IP address of your Exchange server and then restart the SMTP
service. Your Exchange specialists should be able to help you.

If mails are still not being sent then it could be you Exchange server
is not allowing the CRM server to relay emails and you will need to
nicely ask your Exchange specialist to allow the CRM server to relay
mail on the Exchnage SMTP service.

Install Agent on other domain
Hi, I have a problem installing DPM 2010 RC Agents in other domain. Here is the scenario: I have Domain1 and Domain2 ,and they have trusted relationships. My DPM 2010 RC Server is installed on Domain1. When I try to install the agent to a computer with Windows 7 in the other domain it fails and show me this message: Unable to connect to the Active Directory Domain Services database. Make sure that the DPM server is a member of a domain and that a domain controller is running. Also verify that there is network connectivity between the DPM server and the domain control...

Message Rules are getting added but not applied
I have recently switched to Outlook 2007 from Windows-Mail (WM). One of my beefs is, adding/creating message rules seems much more complicated in Outlook than in WM. For example, I don't understand things like "Stop processing more rules" whose check-box gets automatically checked when I check the "Permanently delete it" check-box. But the BIG problem I'm having right now is that I'm creating rules okay (and can see they've been added when I list them via Message Rules), but they're not getting applied some if not all of the time - email...

Winmail.dat message When Attachments
The problem is that when I send attachments (at least to people who are not using Outlook), instead of receiving them, they get a file named winmail.dat, which leads them nowhere. I know this usually happens when you send text in RTF or Word to those who cannot recognize it. However, I always send my mail as Plain Text, which is the standard solution that Microsoft gives for resolving the problem. I'm using Office and Outlook 2000 (IMO, 9.0.0.2711) on Win98. I can get around the problem by zipping the attachments, but that is a nuisance for me and the recipient. In looking at some of th...

Bypassing ENABLE/DISABLE MACROS message
Hi, Is there a way to bypass the "Disable/Enable Macros" message that pops up when you open a workbook? Can we write something in the WORKBOOK_OPEN event to bypass this? For my workbook, users always have to select ENABLE, and I would like to make it the default and bypass the message. (Save one click for the user). Thanks. No you can't do that. "Parking" a second domain in Exchange.
Hi, Is it possible to "park" an additional domain on top of a domain in Exchange? By way of example, what I'm after is to set it up so that any email sent to a_user_name@domain-name-2.org where a_user_name is _any_ valid user account for domain-name-1.org will automatically be delivered to the correct user. Is it possible to do this at a high level, for any/all users, without having to go in to edit each individual user's account to allow them to recieve emails sent to the second domain name? Hosting multiple SMTP domains in Exchange 2003
Hello, This is the scenario. I have a SBS server 2003 currently installed to host domain xyz.com. That was the domain that was available at the time. the NetBIOS domain is XYZ.local, and everything is XYZ. Now a new domain 123.com is available and I would like to make the transition to 123.com. That means that for a period of time, users will need to receive messages from both XYZ.com and 123.com, until eventually, XYZ disappears. Users are all part of the domain and connect to the exchange server using MS Outlook 2003 and OWA. My question is: is it possible to configure Exchange (a...

MFC app fails trying to display a dialog containing an ActiveX con
Hi all, I am working on a dialog-based MFC application, which consists of multiple property pages. From one of the property pages, I am trying to launch a dialog box which contains an ActiveX control. This is currently not working and the application exits with an access violation error when I call DoModal for the dialog. On debugging, I see this is due to AfxGetThread() returning NULL in AfxOleInit(). A subsequent statement in AfxOleInit() tries to dereference this NULL pointer. This does not happen if I display the dialog-box from the application's InitInstance() function instea...
