Creating a new field based on conditions
I have a database that tracks insurance information for our various vendors.
Each insurance type has 2 fields - a requirement field (yes/no), and an
effective field (some show an expiration date, some are yes/no). I have
created a query that will return only the records for which insurance is
required but is expired/missing. My problem is that I want to create a new
field that is calculated based on the values in the other two fields in order
to make the resulting report more user-friendly.
For example, if GLRequired is True and GLExpiration is <Now(), I want the
new field to say...parsing a date and time field #2
I am having trouble parsing the date and time in a field. I download
data from a data base and the date and time come together in one
field. I want to seperate the two. The date and time comes across as
the following: "2/1/2009 14:37" in the cell. When I parse it, it
seperates into three columns as follows: "2/1/2009", 2:37 AM", and
"PM" I can see what is going on but I would like to get two columns
with one as the date and the other as the correct time. are they any
ideas on how to address this?
Try using the TimeValue and DateValue functions.

Use something like Range(Selection.Address & ":D1000").Select.

A client says that someone imported data about a year or two ago into Great
Plains from their AS400.
Many payables documents that were imported should have been coded during the
import as open, instead of history. The client knows that she can take care
of this herself within two hours, by simply turning off the posting to the GL
and entering and posting the payables documents to move them to history.
But, she is wondering if there is a quick and easy way to do this on the

I am trying to find a simple way of moving data in horizontal columns
(referencing the key in column 1) to vertical colums (still referenceing the
same key). This would mean automatically repeating the values in column one
for every entry in the moved columns.
I can do this through the pivot table, but this is a long drawn out process.
I'm not sure if this will work for you, but you can try this:
- Highlight & copy on the horizontal value you want to make vertical
- Now highlight the vertical area you want these value to got

I am getting a lot of spam recently, at least looking at the numbers of

However, it turns out that these messages are not spam at all, but just

regular inbox. Even when I identify a message as 'Not spam', then
subsequent messages from that sender keep popping up in the junk
Obviously I have changed the junk mail settings to 'No automatic

I'm having a problem with getting a NNTP feed from a
INND 2.2.1 server to Exchange 2003; are there any known
issues here? Has anyone done this type of migration
before? What issues did you encounter?
It seems as if Exchange just wants to pull down a few
of the groups (of which we have over 100 internal) and
even with that, not even pull all of the messages in from
those few groups (it usually gets a few hundred
messages). I'm using the basic NNTP wizards but
everything looks to be configured correctly.

Is there a way to get the selected row count of a list box dynamically as

selected. How can this be done?
I know about "lstCusts.ItemsSelected.Count" but not sure what event to use
it in to accomplish what I need.
Never mind. I did this and it handles both mouse and keyboard selections:

We need to set the default lookup address book for all our 2000+ OL2k3

I got an ODBC database with a memo field. Now I use a CRecordSet in

reading 18 fields he's out of memory.
Is there a way to use CString instead of CLongBinary, cause it's only

read all other fields first and only read the memo field when the user

We have a form with a combo box and that combo box executes a query to find

This is how the process works.

a dialog form.
2. That selection becomes the value of vName.
3. The user clicks OK and then moves to the data entry form.
