any crazy CRM 'issue'

I can no longer access workflow manager. When I start it, the following
appears:

An error occured while loading the orgs data, time, and number format
settings. These settings re incompatible with the formats already in use in
Workflow Manager. To sync them, you can make changes the System Settings in
the System Customization area of MS CRM Server.

I've checked, all the number settings 'appear' to the be the same in CRM and
the regional settings on the CRM server and the Global Catalog server. As
close as they can be anyway. Anyone know a way around this?

many thanks

Ok, that's a first for me too. I can almost bet you checked partnersource
already.

So, did you do a customization?

Hello Jeff

I had the same issue back in feb 2004...I logged an incident with MBS and
then spent a few days trying to work through the issue. However after much
troubleshooting which got us nowhere I came into the office and suddenly
could access the tools again. We never found out what the issue was or what
caused the issue to dissapear. You might want to try restarting your
servers. Sorry I cannot be of much help...hopefully someone else has seen
this issue and found out the cause

yeah, no answers on Partnersource. No customizations that are recent...last
one was 6 months ago. Such a lovely, strange critter this CRM.

Anyone from MS or the CRM team care to take a guess on this one? Or is it
just one of the many mysteries of CRM that we'll never know?

I may be able to help you out... but I need some more information first.

Could you please open up SQL Enterprise Manager, go to your MSCRM Database,
open the OrganizationBase table and tell me the values of these fields:

numberformat

dateformatecode

timeformatcode

dateseparator

Also, you should make sure that MSCRMServices directory on your CRM server
is working. Go to this URL:
http://YOURSERVERNAME/mscrmservices/bizorganization.srf

If you do not see XML, then that is probably part of your problem...
otherwise if you give me the values above I can look into it further.

Ok, well I would guess that is your problem. One of the first things the
Workflow Manager does is try to connect to your CRM Server via Web Services.
It uses that URL to read in the settings in question. If that URL doesn't
return XML, then the Workflow Manager will throw an error inside that
routine.

For troubleshooting, configure IE to NOT "Show friendly HTTP Errors" (This
is under IE | Tools | Internet Options | Advanced) - Then try to go the URL
again and see what the "real" error is. Once this URL works, I am guessing
the WF tool should work.

CRM Client user without local admin rights? 10-21-03
Is it possible to run the CRM client without having to add the user to the local admin group? As 1.0 is now, you have to add the user to the local admin group so you can install the software under their account.
