Build Dynamic Query from Form
I am trying to build a dynamic Query from a Form.
I keep getting an error that reads ‘Object qryFilter already exists’
I suspect it has something to do with the string of dates being passed to
strDateCondition = "([Trades].[TDATE] Between [Forms]![SearchForm]![cboFrom]

I recently did clean installs of XP and Win7 on 2 different PCs. Each PC
was loaded with Office 2007. When I ran Microsoft Update after the Office
installs, it shows I needed Office 2007 SP1, not SP2. I manually downloaded
and installed Office 2007 SP2 and then checked Windows Updates for any
needed patches. It still showed I needed Office 2007 SP1...even though I
just installed SP2.
Does anyone know how to 1) have Office SP2 show up as a needed update
instead of SP1, and 2) how to configure Windows Update to show that no SP is
needed after SP2 is installed?
Everytime I boot up my PC a small window pops up entitled "UPDATE MANAGER".
It shows two progress bars, but nothing ever happens. Why is this window
popping up every tiem I turn on the computer and how do I get it to stop?

It is searching for updates but it is not finding anything and saying
that Windows is up to date. I have set the updates to install from the

I am creating a venue ticket tracking DB in Access '07. tblVenueEvent has
info about Venue, date, time, event with a VenueEventID (key field) which is
linked to tblTicketInfo which has section, seat, row, etc.
I set up an entry form completing VenueEvent info with a sub form for ticket

I need to maintain an excel workbook which contains a lot of links to
workbooks. Since the linked workbooks change every week, I need to

Find/Replace. However, the link is updated every time it is changed.
The link updating takes a couple of seconds. So it may take a hour

I am having a problem with an update query.
Table is in a one-to-one relationship, referentail integrity and
cascading data are checked.
(The fileds I want to update are not in both tables)

Has 15 fields ie: ID, Name, MemID, Oct , Nov, Dec, etc
Oct-Sep fields are yes/no type

Replace SaleDate with your actual field name.

I noticed that when I installed the SP 1 & 2 Updates, I
could no longer get .zip, .doc, .htm, .exe attachments
and anything like that (.jpg and .gif are no problem). Is
there a way to enable attachments of other types to come
through? I would like to install the Updates, but need to

all the data cells are used. Everytimg I open the chart it wants to update
and I want it to stay the same.

Just a few ideas:
You could lock the cells that are shown in the chart.
Or you could copy the cells and paste as values (assuming formulas were used
that update when other cells change).

XP-Pro, the file space taken up by XP-Pro grows and grows. While this

Have any of you written a function that you would be willing to share that
performs math on text entered into a field before it is stored in the table?
For instance, it would be helpful for a user to enter quantities of
inventory into a field like 45+56+48 or 14+2*15. Then the function would
calculate the total to be returned to the field to be saved.
I'm sure I could come up with something, but I'm equally sure that someone
has already invented this "wheel" before.

I have done all updates but it hasnt gone to SP2 should I do this manually??

I've had problems installing SP2 in the past too.
You've really got to do all the Updates and restart and then check again
It'll only offer SP2 when *all* the other Updates have been installed.
Have you switched to get...setting a column value in code for an updatable ViewGrid
Is there a way to set the value for a column in code when a ViewGrid row is
edited? I have a row-last-updated date that is a required audit field in
all our systems (required by data management). I don't really want the user
updating this field as it should always be system controlled. If I create
an editable ViewGrid tied to either an SqlDataSource or an ObjectDataSource,
the field seems to only be updatable by the user. I can set it the first
time by setting the DefaultValue in code but that has no effect after there
is an initial value in the column.

Thanks to John Spencer, I resolved one problem in my union query (Thank you,
John). But I have another problem. Some of my fields in my union query are
currencies and others percents. I see both formats are lost. I am sure it is
a union query problem, because when I ran an individual query, none of the
formats were lost. Is there any way I can keep currency and percent formats
