Access 2000 - Visibible Fields

Hello all,

I have a field named Field213 that holds (CASETYPE) from the database. When
I open the form, I want it to look at that field and make field163 visible
depending on what it stored in Field213. Right now it only becomes visible
if I manually change what is in field213, then field163 becomes visible. I
should mention that I have field163 as visible no and display always, the
same as field PBISUB, Field382 and Field163. Probably something simple, but
I can't seem to see it right now.

I have the following:

Private Sub Field213_BeforeUpdate(iC As Integer)
 If Me!CASETYPE = "P" Then
  PBISub.Visible = True ***(This field is working like it should)***
  PBISub.Enabled = True
  Field163.Visible = True ***(Shouldn't this make the field show up if there
is a "P" in CASETYPE??)***
  Field163.Enabled = True
 ElseIf Me!CASETYPE = "R" Then
  Field382.Visible = True ***(This field is working like it should)***
  Field382.Enabled = True
  Combo143.Visible = True ***(This field is working like it should)***
  Combo143.Enabled = True
  Field163.Visible = True ***(Shouldn't this make the field show up if
there is a "P" in CASETYPE??)***
  Field163.Enabled = True
 End If
 If Me!CASETYPE <> "H" Then
  Field382.Visible = False
  Field382.Enabled = False
  Combo143.Visible = False
  Combo143.Enabled = False
  End If
  Exit Sub
P_Err:
 RootErr
 Resume Next
End Sub

And: In the afterupdate I have

Private Sub Field213_AfterUpdate()
 On Error GoTo P_Err
 If Me!CASETYPE = "P" Then
  PBISub.Visible = True
  PBISub.Enabled = True
  Field382.Visible = False
  Field382.Enabled = False
  Field163.Visible = True
  Field163.Enabled = True
 ElseIf Me!CASETYPE = "R" Then
  Field382.Visible = True
  Field382.Enabled = True
  PBISub.Visible = False
  PBISub.Enabled = False
  Combo143.Visible = True
  Combo143.Enabled = True
  Field163.Visible = True
  Field163.Enabled = True
 Else
  PBISub.Visible = False
  PBISub.Enabled = False
  Field382.Visible = False
  Field382.Enabled = False
  Combo143.Visible = False
  Combo143.Enabled = False
 End If
***(Even if I take the following statement out, the field still doesn't show
up)***
 If Me!CASETYPE = "R" Then
Me!Field163.RowSource = "SELECT subRCLOSED.RCLOSED, subRCLOSED.RCLOSEDNA
FROM subRCLOSED WHERE (((subRCLOSED.RCLOSED) Like 'R'));"
Else
Me!Field163.RowSource = "Select subRCLOSED.RCLOSED,subRCLOSED.RClosedNA From
subRCLOSED WHERE (((subRCLOSED.RCLOSED) <> 'R'));"
End If
 Exit Sub
P_Err:
 RootErr
 Resume Next
End Sub

Linked graphics into a Publisher 2000 document
I have a 400KB document (withgout graphics). I insert two JPEG images each around 200KB into the document. I figure the resulting document should be around 700KB. Result? An 11MB file. I delete the images (document is now 400KB) and instead insert the images using the "Link to File" option. Graphics Manager confirms that the images are linbked into the file. The size should not be more than 500KB. Result? An 11MB file. Question is how can I insert images into a Publisher 2000 documentr without the file blowing up? And why does it blow up? Hey everybody, At the minute we're in the process of upgrading our 30 odd servers to Windows Server 2003. The Domain Controllers are still running Windows 2000. My question is : Can I install an Exchange 2003 OWA on a Windows Server 2003 to connect to an Exchange 2000 Server in a Windows 2000 Domain (Native Mode) Do I have to upgrade the whole domain first ? What about notions of Front End / Back End ? We would like to do this to benefit from the new OWA (As it's sooooo cool :)) Thanks for your replies, Mike You can use an E2K3 FE to connecto to an E2K BE, but you only get OW...

32- and 64-bit Access 2010
Can both the 32- and 64-bit versions of Access 2010 be installed concurrently on a single 64-bit Windows 7 system? Fewer normal template problems with Word 2000 or 2002?
I have enjoyed some things about Word 2007, but I keep having problems with macros and templates. I am wondering if (a) macros increase the likelihood of corrupting the normal template in 2007, or (b) if the older versions of Word had as many template problems. I have used Word in 2000, with Office 2003, and now with Office 2007 and I don't ever recall having as many problems as I've had with 2007. What I'm thinking is that if it is simply a macro problem causing corruption, I would simply use 2007 without the macros (they're nice but I can live without them). On the...

CreateDatabase / Access 2007
Hi all, Question: Can Access 2007 be forced to create an Access 2000 database when using CreateDatabase? I have a "utility" database that I distribute in version 2000 to users which is used to extract data from their main database (also version 2000) and which then creates and dumps this data into a new database ("Homedata.mdb"). This new database can then be zipped up, emailed, and uploaded into our central database. The basic procedure is: Data is extracted from the user's main database; placed in tables within the "utility" database; "H...

Keyboard hooking through Accessibility
I am looking for a method to hook the keyboard without running a background process. I know there are APIs for hooking (SetWindowsHookEx), but I want to avoid the overhead of running another background process for this and make the task do by windows itself. I am thinking of tweaking the Accessibility option in windows for this. Can we anyway do this by writing any script or modifying or adding registry entries for Accessibility? Or is there any Accessibility specific APIs which can re-program the Accessibility feature to do our tasks when we press a key with Accessibility feature-on. An...
