2003 Bug: Reports Won't Open, Printer Issue

Has anyone found a good solution to the "OpenReport Action Was
Cancelled" error that has to do with printers? I'm especially hoping
for help from an MVP or from a MS person.

The error (detailed below) seems to be happening frequently here at my
work. We have a fix that can get the Access databases back online (see
below), but I'm hoping someone has a real fix that will stop this from
happening.
-------------------------------------------------
Here's the background:
There have been a number of posts regarding MS Access 2003 databases
that suddenly won't open reports.
Our users and those looking for help in the groups report the
following errors:

     --Reports won't open
--Attempting to open a report causes an "Action Canceled"
message, such as:
       "The OpenReport action was canceled"

The error is machine specific, not database specific. When this
occurs, it affects ALL Access databases opened in Access 2003 on the
machine.

The usenet posts show that this issue is fairly common, but difficult
to identify. Since the error is that the OpenReport action was
cancelled, many of the responses suggest that there may be a problem
in the VBA code or something else. Many of the people asking for help
do not appear to find a solution.

Users in the UA bug discussion thread raise this issue a number of
times, but a good solution is not identified.
http://www.utteraccess.com/forums/printthread.php?Cat=&Board=3&main=415002&type=thread

This UA thread, however, provides a good method to restore
functionality:
http://www.utteraccess.com/forums/printthread.php?Cat=&Board=85&main=1077384&type=thread

The author says that MS told him to:
   1. Exit Access.
   2. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Printers and
Faxes.
   3. Right-click the problem printer [the default printer], and then
click Properties.
   4. In the Properties dialog box, click Printing Preferences.
   5. Click each tab in the Printing Preferences dialog box without
making any changes.
   6. Click OK to close the Printing Preferences dialog box.
   7. Click OK to close the Properties dialog box.
   8. Restart Access, and then try to create the report again.

This does restore the ability to open reports, but it does not prevent
the problem from recurring.

(FYI... Another possible solution is uninstalling and reinstalling the
printers. This usually solves the problem, but not always and it's
more difficult. The steps above seem to work better.)

Can any MVP or MS person suggest a real fix to stop this from
happening?

Thanks,

Scott

Yes, with Deluxe there is a built-in function and above. It should be able to convert your Money 2003 file automatically. Filters in Excel 2003
I am using Filters in Excel 2003. Every cell in sheet B is linked to every cell in sheet A. That way I can alter data in B without corrupting the original data in A. I then highlight the cells in B that I want to assign a filter to and select Advanced Filter. I have no criteria so I do not set that. I click OK. I then select Filter again and this time select Auto Filter. Drop down arrows appear at the top of my columns. Great, no problems so far, I then select from the drop down list the criteria that I want to filter. Again no problems, my list filters correctly. But once I have do...
