How do I import internet mail to outlook?
I have a mail account on the Illinois Math and Science Academy. I would like to know if I can use Outlook to access this account. If so, then how do I go about doing it? what type of server does the academy use? Ask their mail admin for details of how to add the mail account to Outlook, or if they even allow it. If they are using Exchange, then use Outlook Web Access to get at your mail. Again, ask the mail admin at your academy - none of us attend the school so we would have no way of knowing. -- Milly Staples [MVP - Outlook] Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion ...

Monitor outgoing mails
A user has been selected for redundancy but is still working in the office. I need to monitor their outgoing emails to ensure they are not sending out sensitive information. Turing on arhiving on the Store will result in too many emails and I don't want to read everybody elses emails. Does anyone know of a free/low cost option of implementing this under Exchange 2003? Export Outlook 2003 mail account settings ?
I'm sure this must be a FAQ, but I can't find the answer. Is there a way to export Outlook 2003 mail account settings? I want to serve that CC by myself (by that WINPROC callback function).. Inside that WINPROC there is WM_PAINT message handle.. How do I stop Delivery Status Notification for a particular email?
A particular email address is not accepting an email. The Mail Delivery System continues to attempt delivery and automatically generates a Delivery Status Notification each time when it fails. How can I stop the Mail Delivery System from trying to deliver the email to that particular address? It appears that the process will continue indefinitely. The DSN is controlled by the settings on the mail servers and not your mail client. The DSN will eventually stop once the message in question is delivered or ages out based on how long the systems will continue to try delivery. I...

Hyperlink in an e-mail
I am trying to hyperlink to an adobe file (on my hard drive) at the end of an e-mail that is created in Publisher 2003. It works in Publisher, but when I e-mail it out and click on the link it does nothing. The other link that I insert to download adobe works just fine. Sarah, You will have to place the file on a web server and create a link to it, rather than to your hard drive. Or add it as an attachment. Outlook Express blocking attachments in e-mail
I've just started using Outlook Express on a new laptop. I've set it up to receive messages via my Earthlink account. But whenver I open a message w/ an attachment, I see a note at the top of the message that sayw Outlook Express has removed access to the "unsafe attachments" contained in the message. These are attachments I sent myself from a work account--they're not unsafe, merely Word documents. Does anyone know what the problem is? I presume there's some default security setting that is set too high. Any help would be appreciated. Open Outlook ...

Windows Mail fails when connecting to AIM.COM mail server
I tried to post this earlier, but I don't see it. Sorry if this is a duplicate. I have an HP laptop with Vista as the OS. I use Windows Mail to access my aim.com email. I've used this for over a year. Suddenly, I am getting the following error. I can connect to the aim web mail, so my password, etc is valid and working. This seems to be an SSL error, but I have not changed my configuration of the servers in Windows Mail. Any ideas why this is suddenly occurring? reading mail offline
Emails that contain graphics and have been fully downloaded cannot be read offline. Whenever I'm working offline and I need to read one of those emails with graphics, outlook attempts to connect to my host server--even though I've requested as an option that the contents of emails be fully downloaded. The same thing applies to webpages that I've saved in word format--either doc or html. Is there a way for all those emails and pages with graphics to be fully saved on disk so that the program--either outlook or word--does not attempt to connect to the web when I'm offline? z...

Missing E-Mail Problem
I have a client with Outlook 2003. She is having a strange problem: She is missing CERTAIN e-mails. The e-mails are from a period of a few months. All e-mail from that time frame are gone. She has e-mail from before that, and after that in her program. Is there any reason for that e-mail to disappear? Perhaps an archiving feature? I did a search for archive.pst and it found nothing. Outlook not displaying mail
Good afternoon from Wisconsin, One of our remote users accesses her email through Outlook to an Exchange server after authenticating on our VPN. The problem she was experiencing a few days ago was that she would authenticate on the VPN, start up Outlook and her Outlook wouldn't display any email. After verifying all her settings were correct, we had her send it to us to be looked at. We fired up her laptop, authenticated on the VPN, and started Outlook. It complained once about needing to be started up in safe mode, we obliged, and rebooted the laptop after shutting down Outlook. Afte...

IMAP mail
Several questions re: Outlook (we are considering migrating from Netscape) (1)I know previous versions of Outlook do not work well with IMAP mail (disconnecting, etc.). Have these problems been addressed/fixed in Outlook 2003? Thanks 1) I don't have any issues with it but then again; I don't use my IMAP account that often so I can't say how my daily use experiences are 2) Yes, you can configure several p...

lost e-mail #2

Well not knowing that it basically erases all of your programs i opened my outlook 2000 up and it told me i have to reintall the program. So i did that, and to my surprise all of my e- mails were gone. Is there any way to get all of those e- mails back.
