Determining if a file contents has changed
Hello, I was curious how I could determine if a file contents has
changed? I am planning on creating a "tail" command like in Unix. The
idea is that the tool will print the last contents of a file, and
everytime the file has changed, it will continue to print those
contents to the screen.
Someone suggested FileSystemWatcher, would this be a valid class to
use? If so, which library is this class in? I cannot find it.

When I click on excel file on desktop or through my
documents, excel opens with a blank grey page and dialogue
box saying file couldn't be found. I then close the box
and can access the file through file and open, I used to
just click and it opened instantly, what has gone wrong?

I'm stumped!! How do you get your tabs to go from one page in tab control to
the next page? Right now, when I get to the bottom of the page, it tabs back
to the top. I am using Access 2003 with Windows XP. I want to be able to tab
from one page to the next as I complete my form.

You'll need to use code to set the focus to the first control on the second
tab in the LostFocus event of the last control on the first tab:

MDBDATA. Can these files be deleted.

These are transaction log files, vital for database roll-back.
These logs will be cleared after you perform a Full-backup on the Exchange
Directory and Information databases.

For example, Blue Company receives a remittance advice each month from Red
Customer. This remittance advice is received in PDF format and is hundreds
of pages. Is there anyway to take this remittance advice in PDF format and
translate it to Excel? That way all the invoices on this remittance advice
do not have to be manually keyed?

You can convert the pdf to an html file, and then open it
up in Excel. Of course you'll lose formatting but you can

I am sure this is a common question...but I could not find the answer.
I have a form where purchases are recorded (stock table) and it has a
supplier name field, with additional supplier details such as address
below all stored on the (supplier table).
When the supplier name is entered into the form I would like the
address field etc to be automatically populated but I am at a loss how

I have a user on a Windows 2000 machine with user rights.
The user is also running office 97. When he opens a excel
speedsheet and Enable's Macros, he gets the following
message; "Permission to use object denied".
It sounds like there is some sort of link to another workbook that a macro
is calling and your user does not have rights to it.
I think I would open the book without enabling the macros, and then take a
look at them to see if one is trying to do such a thing.

Is it possible that you have crop marks appearing? Go to File > Print >
Advanced Print Settings > Page Settings Tab > Uncheck "Crop Marks"

Yes. CDs are read only. Outlook requires read/write access. Copy the file
to the hard drive, remove the read-only check mark and use File->Open in
Outlook to open the file.

Problem is how to print a file that was created by
using "Print To File" from an EXCEL spreadsheet.

I cannot open the print file in EXCEL or any other

I have a report that displays invoices for given customers. The report is
grouped by customer.
Sometimes the invoice details (subreport) spans across a second page. I have
got all headers & page footers to repeat on that second page so this works
fine. What I want is to hide the Main Reports Page footer if the Subreport is
spanning on a second page. Hide it on the first page (for that group only)
and display it only on the last page (usually the second page... but hey.. it
could even be the third!).

I have a custom size publication. I can't save the page setup or the printer
preferances when I open the publication. The custon size is in the dropdown
boxs for both (page setup and printer pref.), but I have to manually reset
them each time.
What version Publisher? Is your printer driver current? What model printer? Is
it just one particular publication?
