unable to log in 11-28-09

Hi,

out of the blue when I access my windows mail it is asking for my user name
and password, I've tried all variations I can think off without luck, I'm
receiving the following message, any solutions?

Account: 'Home', Server: 'pop3.blueyonder.co.uk', Protocol: POP3, Server
Response: '-ERR Protocol error.', Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error:
0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC91

thanks,

Go to Tools, Accounts, select that mail account, Properties, Servers.
Make sure that "Log on using Secure Password Authentication" is not =
enabled.=20

If that setting was correct, which antivirus are you running? Some of =

Norton security products are among the top three troublemakers for=20
Windows Mail. Symptoms often don't surface until several months have
gone by, or until an update occurs.
First, be sure to disable its email scanning, for the reason explained =
here:
http://thundercloud.net/infoave/tutorials/email-scanning/index.htm=20

Disabling the Norton program is often insufficient. If so, do a trial =
uninstall,=20
followed by using their debris removal tool:

Instead of uninstalling your antivirus, another option is to upgrade to=20
Windows Live Mail, which is more resistant to the adverse effects of =
