Trial upgrade to W7

I have a Windows 7 Home Premium that I have used on one of my laptops, with
excellent results.
After taking a complete backup of my wife's Vista laptop, I'd like to use
the same CD on her laptop, as a 30 day trial.
If she likes it, I'd be willing to pay for another copy.
If not, I'd restore her laptop to it's Vista.
I use StorageCraft, so my backup will restore everything, Vista, drivers,
installed applications, absolutely everything.
I'm not looking to cheat Microsoft, but don't want to buy a copy and then
not like it.
Will this work?
We'll probably like it, and pay a fee to continue using the installed copy,
if possible.
TIA, Paul

It would most likely work, although you'd be in violation of the EULA
and, depending on your location, possibly copyright law(s).

A better solution might be to download the free Windows 7 Enterprise
Trial License, and use it as a test bed; that's what it's designed for.
(There'll be some extra features/capabilities, but nothing that should
interfere.)

You get a 30-day trial if you install without entering a product key.
There will be nags to activate.

If your wife likes it, as I expect she will, and you buy the same
edition and bitness, just activate the installation with the product key
you buy: you will not need to re-install.

Thank you, Dominic. I thought that would work - a 30 day trial. I'm sure
we'll like it (32 bit) and make the purchase. Her biggest difference will
be moving to W7's email from Windows Mail.

Hi, Paul.

> be moving to W7's email from Windows Mail.

Well, since you've been using Win7, I'm sure you know that it includes NO
mail client. So she gets to pick and choose whatever email application she
likes - except Windows Mail, which runs only on Vista. (There are ways to
make WM work in Win7 but I've never tried them because (1) WM on Win7 is not
supported by Microsoft and (2) I like WLM better than WM.)

Office 2004 Standard to Professional Step Upgrade?

Upgrading from SQL2000 to SQL2008
We are upgrading from SQL2000 to SQL2008 and moving to a new server. The problem is, we are going from GP9.0 to GP2010. Does anyone know the path we need to take to get there? I figure I have two options. One, upgrade from GP9.0 to GP10.0 on the old server (SQL2000) and then upgrade from GP10.00 to GP2010 on the new server (SQL2008). My second option would be to upgrade from SQL2000 to SQL2005 on the old server and then just go from GP9.0 to GP2010 on the new server. I am wondering what the path of least resistance would be? The other little bit of information is, there...

Can't send to certain domains after upgrading Exchange to SP1
Hey guys, I'm having a problem with Exchange after I installed SP1. Exchange resides on a 2003 SP1 server. After I upgraded Exchange to SP1, I can not send to hotmail.com, msn.com, microsoft.com and a few other domains. I searched the web, found other users had similiar issues, but there wasn't a solution posted. Has anyone else run across this? If so, what do you do to fix the issue. I have added an external DNS address under the Default Virtual Server because it was blank and tried to force a connection to the domains I can't send to, but that hasn't fixed the issue. Any inpu...
