Demoting old DC
I have a Secondary/Backup DC (, Primary Died, computer crashed, it wont be turned on again) which I promoted to primary (didnt sieze schema master role) and then merged users and computer to a new dc with a different domain name, used ADMT and now all computers are on the new domain . I wont to get rid of the old DC by demoting it or can i just remove the trust between the new and old domain and formatt the old DC? If not do i have to seize all of the FSMO roles before demoting it ? Any other tips what has to be done?

Hello polilop, If you have all migrated to the new domain what you need to remove the trust. Now you can demote the source domain DCs. As you have already created a new domain, you should have on that one all FSMOs available. The source domain FSMOs wan't be migrated to the new one. You can check with "netdom query fsmo" in a command prompt on the new domain, to be sure they are on the new DCs. Old bills will not delete in budget
In my budget, I have bills showing up automatically that I have previously deleted from the bill payment schedule. When I try to edit these transations, nothing shows up. I am not given the option to delete them. How do I remove them from showing up in my budget catagories? I was able to do this by viewing the "bill calendar" and deleting the bills from there. Old mail sent after reboot
When I restarted our Exchange 2003 server old email was sent. To be more precise two things happened. One is we get NDR “Could not deliver the message in the time limit specified” Then I get another message stating it was delayed and tracking shows the message just went out even though it was sent days to weeks ago. My applications painting is getting more complex and I've been thinking about drawing first to a memory DC before BitBlt'ing the bitmap to the screen in order to prevent flicker. Hi, I found KB887539 regarding the above. Seems that by applying all the patches related to SBS2k3 SP1, we can resolve the issue of slow shutdown. Hi, I am running GP 8. I have several skus in our system that are old, and no longer used. The items have been discontinued, but they still show up in several reports, and more importantly our POS system. IS there any way that we can archive, or remove these old items. Recently, I deleted all mails in my imap mail box after making a backup by creating a new folder(A) and saving all mails into this folder, and setting a new "maintenance folder(B) (through "option" menu in "tool" tap). After restart exchange resends old email to clients
After I restart my exchange server (exch 2000) it will regenerate old email and send them to my clients. It doesn't matter wether I gracefully shut the system down or If it froze and I had to press the reset button. Slow shutdown- Exchange2003 running on Svr2003 DC
Hi, I found KB887539 regarding the above. Seems that by applying all the patches related to SBS2k3 SP1, we can resolve the issue of slow shutdown. But if we are not running SBS but standard edition Winsvr2k3 (as DC) and Exchange on the same server, is there any way to resolve this? Will the patch help? Can I remove some old items from Great Plains?
Hi, I am running GP 8. I have several skus in our system that are old, and no longer used. The items have been discontinued, but they still show up in several reports, and more importantly our POS system. IS there any way that we can archive, or remove these old items. The only solution I have found is to delete the transaction history for the item then delete it, but from what I understand, if I open an old invoice, it will not longer have the product name in it.
