Media Center Screen Scaling Issue

I have a desktup running 2 screens. My main runs at 1650x1080 and the second
is 1280x1024. I always run my media center in a window streched to the max
size on the second screen.

The problem is that I can't get it to go to 4:3 in windows 7. In Vista I was
able to do this by dragging the media center so it was overlapping both
screens and then maximising it. That used to make it 4:3 when it was restored
but that doesn't seem to work in vista.

The first week I was using 7 I did get it to behave but I have no idea how,
now it's stuck and I can't seem to fix it.

Here is a screenshot:
http://www.creativenetworks.ca/mediacenter.jpg

I've played with the settings in media center a ton and it never changes the
ratio.

I suggest that you drag and drop a copy of the MC icon to the second screen
so that you start from there.
Also suggest that you go back through the MC TV setup on Win7 and make sure
are not able to set the aspect ration to 4:3 when in full screen mode.

No change with trying the icon thing. I've ran the wizard easily 40 times in
different combinations and haven't gotten it to behave.

When I use the MC wizard for an HDMI TV interface in Win7 the first question
I get asked is is the aspect ratio 4:3 or 16:9.
You may have to change the type of display you tell the wizard you have.

You'll have to trust me, I know the product very well and it's not as simple
as that. I've run the wizard many times and have tired selecting 16:9 on the
other screen then going back to 4:3 on the secondary and every imaginable
combination of that with no luck.

Every so often it seems to go back to 4:3 but then for no reason it goes
back to 16:9 and there is nothing I can do to make it 4:3.

This morning for no apparent reason and no changes in settings it's back to
4:3. Just to test I've run the wizard several times + restarted and I can't
get it to go 16:9. Not that I want it to go 16:9 but just to confirm the
settings don't work reliably.

It helps to have the Right Monitor for the Right screen Resolutions

4:3 is Right Resolutions for your Monitor
The settings confirm That for you!!!

This is just a guess, it may be that the setting options in the Win7 MC
wizard depend besides depending on the type of display you are using also
depend on which screen of the extended desktop you are running MC from or on
EDID data from the display used for the screen of the extended desktop
screen you are running MC from.

Media player queuing
I have (now) windows xp home, because windows blew up and I had to re-install my operating system. Before, I played audio tracks with my choice media player, Media Monkey. I could right-click an audio track in my comp and in the box that popped up, I could see these options : play next, play last (and more). I could queue several tracks in the player. Well, I've read every line of every catagory and sub-catagory in the player and can't figure out how to do that again! XP and Outlook 2000 issues
Hi. I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced any issues with running Outlook 2000 on a Windows XP machine. We have just migrated one of our office from NT to XP and are experience huge speed issues. Old PCs still on NT are not experienceing any issues. The issues seem to be that when you have AutoPreview turned on XP will pause while it seems to download an attachment. When you move to the next message the same thing occurs. If you then decide to open an attachment it opens Quickly (Exchange Server 5.5 is located at the end of a 512K pipe). On NT the opposite occurs, you can go throug...

Has Excel 2010 fixed slow down issues?
I've experienced - as have many others in here - inordinate slow downs in saving autorecover, macro executions, file openings and in contual screen fade-outs and "not responding" messages while Excel takes time out just to "think". Does anyone know if these issues have been successfully addressed in Office 2010? Let me stress that these comments are based on very limited and informal testing of some features as of the last Beta release of 2010. It's not like I've been beating on it continuously for several months. I've been running 2010 in...

Some three months into Windows 7 X64 and just about reconciled to absence of NewsGroups via Outlook Express - when up jumps Windows Live Mail - evidently with capability to reach out and subscribe to NTTP Newsgroups. I surmise - there must also be a host of features (or at least - some) which also I have managed to overlook - which are part of the Media Center Software. Won't even mention the new look of Office 2007 (2010 you say?) where it takes a dullard like me - a few weeks to find the help tab.... Auto-Scale of X-Axis to NOT start at 0
Hi, I've got a dynamically changing x-axis range of values. If you choose one option (option button) the x-axis goes from 0-60, option two it goes to 80-140, option 3 it goes from 160-200. However, for those graphs on options 2 and 3, it always manages to display the graph from 0, which I don't particularly like, as 3/4 of the graph is wasted on white space. Is there a way to properly auto-scale the x-axis to the limits (or just outside) of the x-axis data array? I don't particularly want to record a macro for this... Many thanks Phil ...

Using different format depending on screen
greetings I have an access db that I use at home on a PC with a large screen and on the road using a laptop. In each of my many forms, the Form_Open event has a line like... DoCmd.MoveSize 150, 6000, 6750, 4770 that works well for the screen in question. I use one set of numbers on my PC and another set on the laptop. I'd like the program to somehow recognize which computer I'm using so that I can use If...Else If... to set the correct values for each machine. I'm really not sure how to do this. Any clues would be appreciated. -- Thanks Sophie "Sophie" <...

Excel 2007 weird formatting issues
Does anyone here use Excel 2007 already? I began using it and when I tried to do my favorite border with dropped shadow, there was no longer such option in Excel 2007. Instead I can choose to create a rectangle box (Inser -> Illustrations -> Shapes -> Rectangle Box). However, the only way to have a dropped shadow is to have a solid filled box (which of course covers the cells underneath). If you don't choose solid fill then you are going to see shadows not only on bottom and right but also on top and left which makes the rectangle box look weird. Whatever happened to the regul...

Why "center across selection" rather than "merge" cells? What is.
When is it more appropriate to "center across" selection rather than "merge" cells? What are the advantages/disadvantages to these two types of cell alignment? Thanks very much. Merging cells interferes with selecting a range - to apply formatting, for instance. Simple example: If B3 & C3 are merged and you want to select A1:B4, you end up with A1:C4 I *think* in older versions of Excel it also hindered the column autofit feature activated by double clicking the border between column headers.
