Doomsday approaches, and in a few hours someone will have to switch off the lights. The time has come for an undignified slow race to be the last to post in this group, so all start back-pedalling now...

Thanks for your companionship over the past 4+ years – see you again over at the Annex Café or, those with the stomach for it, WLSC.

The WLMsgr group which had reasonable amount of daily postings disappeared almost immediately(nttp and web cdo). It’s also dead on aioe.org with 2 posts since Aug 25 fed in from the Eggheads.

Smartheap library out of memory error
Has anyone gotten a smartheap out of memory error? We are running v7.5. If we say to ignore the error we get a second error saying there was a probelm with the data dictionary memory allocation. -- ToddR After some digging around I found that either the FORMS.DIC or the REPORTS.DIC file had become corrupted. Restored these from a backup and all is well again. -- ToddR "ToddR" wrote: > Has anyone gotten a smartheap out of memory error? Hi, We have a single DL in a public folder which when users try to open they receive the following error : "Cannot open this item. If i copy the DL to another public folder, the same error appears. Any ideas? Thanks Matthew ...

I used the MSMoney -> Quicken converter facility in Quicken 2010 to import many years of data. The converter did an excellent job. There were a few mistakes, but I was able to correct these. Recent posts to this news group indicate that Intuit will update the converter facility in November, addressing all of the mistakes that I found. As far as I can tell, my financial data is in good shape, and I have no need to re-do the conversion process in November. My own reading indicates that Microsoft and Intuit cooperated in order to make the conversion software successful. I am disappointed tha...

store.exe memory usage
Hello all I am having some strange things happening on my exchange server and when looking at a few things in the task manager I noticed that the memory usage for the store.exe process is at about 600meg. I restarted the server and it's now at about 200meg. Does that look right? I am not an exchange guru so any help would be great. MoneyLink -- Thanks, Mr. Watson.
I was just perusing the Money FAQ and was delighted to find out about the Excel MoneyLink plug-in, among other interesting things. Somehow I've been ignorant of it up until now, although I've been using Money since 1995. So thanks, Dick, for your work in maintaining the FAQ -- it's very useful. The MoneyLink information is slightly dated -- it only mentions that MoneyLink is available for up to Money 2003. The free "lite" plug-in is currently available for up to 2006 at http://www.ultrasoft.com/moneylink/download.shtml. I love having 10 years worth of financial data o...

Thanks for pics
Hi Sharon, Thanks so much for the nice pictures of Michele & I at my birthday dinner along with the sweet card. The other day Michele & I ran together in Tennessee Valley. There I found a newt trying to cross the road. Why? To get to the other side, of course. I just remembered the good feeling of when I, as a young sprout, use to visit you in San Domenico in the spring & I'd end up catching some newts. Made me think of you... not that you have any likeness to a newt. On the Tennessee Valley run we also had a large female wild turkey run along with us (...or from us from her...

note to all of the very good people who took time to post articulated and good suggestions on how to get my data & applications up & running again: Thanks to all of you! Excessive memory use
I have a problem running Excel 2007 on a laptop with Windows Vista. Any time I work with a file of any substantial size, the program repeatedly freezes up. Windows Task Manager shows that Excel is using all the available CPU, even though I'm not performing any tasks. This may go on for 2-3 minutes or more, then I have a few seconds to try and do some work in the file before it freezes up again for another 2-3 minutes. This is extremely aggravating - I'm spending hours doing what should take minutes! The file I'm working on has about 15 sheets of 10,000 records each with abou...

CArray and Memory Leak (VS8.0)
Hi All, I'm using a typed CArray: CArray<CMyObject, CMyObject&>. CMyObject is derived from CObject and has three CString members. When the program exits, I enjoy a memory leak. The leak only occurs after Add() is called on the Array. As more items are added, more memory is leaked. If Add() is not called, no memory leaks. According to Q318734 [1], ConstructElements() and DestructElements() are depricated, so I don't need (or can't) use them. Is this a false positive? (It has been my experience that it is probably not). If it is a leak, how do I stop it? Thanks, Jeff ...
