Disappeared/Lost messages

I transferred messages from Inbox in WLM to archive folder, but today's
messages did not arrive in archive folder--they're gone! What happened to
them, how can I get them back, how can I avoid having the problem in the
future? (I know I didn't accidentally delete them because that is not even an
option in the Move Message To box.)

Define 'transferred'.
 e.g. Copied, moved etc

And transferred from where ?
    - Email account folders, newsgroup, Quick View(not really a folder but a search that provides a view of messages residing
elsewhere), or Storage Folders.

Moved from "Inbox" to storage folder. That is to say, I selected and
right-clicked the messages and then clicked on "Move to folder," selected the
storage folder I wanted and clicked OK.

The messages disappeared from the Inbox but never showed up in selected
storage folder.

Yesterday the system worked. Being careful because I didn't want to lose
certain messages, I "copied" them to the appropriate folder (using the system
mentioned above) and only deleted them once I was sure that they were indeed
in the storage folder. Today, I've tried copying messages in my Inbox and
Sent box to a storage folder, but it does not work. The copied messages do
not appear in the selected storage folder.

Hi, pajo4595.

> storage folder I wanted and clicked OK.

Are you SURE you selected the "storage folder I wanted"? I just went
through something similar. It took me a while to realize that I had more
than one "Family" storage folder. The one I wanted was Storage Folders\Mail
Folders\Family. But the one that I kept browsing to was Storage
Folders\Imported Folder\Mail Folders\Family. In other words, I was failing
to "drill down" properly and had inadvertently wandered into an Imported
Folder that held the Mail Folders tree (including the Family folder) that I
had previously imported from a prior installation of OE or WM or WLM.

Those multi-level folders in the Storage Folders tree can get VERY deep!
And, since we often import whole TREES of folders and messages, it's very
easy for us to get lost at the wrong level. (Did you ever play the
Adventure game and get lost in its maze of "twisty little passages, all
alike"?) It's entirely possible, for example, to find yourself in Storage
Folders\Imported Folders\Mail Folders\Imported Folders\Mail Folders\Imported
Folders\Mail Folders\Family. :>( And you may have missed another Family
folder in a side branch on the way down.

The good news is that your messages are probably not lost - just hiding in
one of those little twisty passages.

Changing flag date or time on many messages at once?
This is one I haven't tried to fix before. I have a special use for Outlook. Besides regular messages, I send myself "To Do's" to and from home marked with a special phrase when it's a To Do that has rules that mark it with a flag, etc. In either work or home, a lot of those To Do's need to be deferred to a different time or day. Message tracking question
Hello there, We've recently setup an Exchange 2007 server for our organization and things seem to be working smoothly. We've set the server up to accept only emails that are directed to someone on our domain. So only someone@ourdomain.net would be allowed through. This seems to be working. The problem I've noticed is that when we look at our tracking logs, we receive hundreds of messages for random names on our domain in the receive logs. Is this normal? Folders Are Disappearing !
