Link from Excel to out look
I would like to make a link from Excel date column to my outlook calander.
Please let me if it is possible. I am using Office 2003. For example if I
have date in one column and some notes on second column. For that date I
would like see those notes in my Outlook Calander.

XL 2007 doesn't have the TOOLS-Options-Interpolate menu and choices.
This goes for a line chart as well.
Click the chart to activate it
In the Design tab of Chart Tools, click Select Data
A dialog box opens, look at lower left corner for "Hidden and Empty Cells"
button and click it
You get three options: gaps, zero and connect.
Alternative (works in all version of Excel); in the empty cell type =NA().
It will display as #N/A and will be ignored by the chart engine

Usually you can open any excel file by double clicking the file from within
Windows Explorer. Since some time for a mysterious reason this doesn't work
any more. Excel opens but not the file. Any ideas why this is so and what to

I've used previous versions of Excel for column charts a fair bit, and
it seems like something doesn't work in Excel 2003. I want to display
two data series next to one another in a column chart, and each data
series needs its own Y axis (they are on different scales). I can get
the two series next to each other if they are both plotted against the
same Y axis, but if I choose Format Data Series -> Axis -> Secondary
Axis for the second data series, the two columns are on top of each
other. I can't figure out how to change this, and I don't recall ever

How do you increase rows to output size? When exporting a 2000+ page report
to Excel (97-2002 *xls), stops on page 412 with message stating: “There are
too many rows to output, based on limitation specified by the output format
or by Microsoft Access”. Using Access 2000 with Windows 2000 OS
Excel has a hard-and-fast limit of 65536. When you export to Excel from a
report, you usually get extraneous blank lines, so it's conceivable that
you're hitting that limit.
There's no way around it, other than to simply export the data (assuming
less than 65536 rows) rather than the rep...My worksheet automatically adds a fill color when I enter text.
When I type text in a blank cell, the cell automatically is highlightes with
the bright yellow fill. There is no conditional formatting on this workbook.

Try to Increase the Macro Security to its maximum level in order to
eliminate the Event Macro from running...
You may, also consider to "rem" all the Macro commands by adding a Preceding

I exported an annual worklist from an Access table to Excel. There is
column for tasks, one for frequency (TD, D, TW, W, TM, M, Q, SA, A
twice daily, daily, twice monthly, etc) and a column for each month.
The month columns have the same coded data as the frequency colum
depending on when the task is done.
The problem is that I tried to make a pivot table to count how man
tasks (by frequency type) are done each month. Excel is counting th
empty cells as if they had data. Search and replace doesn't work.

I'm working in Vista. When I select lines and click on "Keep Lines
Together," the lines do not stay together. They stay together if I also
click "Keep with Next," but I'm working on a booklet in which the pages are
1/4 of a letter-sized page, and a lot of space (4 lines) is left at the

I have workbooks with multiple worksheets. I would like to keep the summary
tab in a fixed (first) position so that the user can easily, quickly find it

I use hyperlinks to get from the summary tab to the other tabs, and I know I
can hyperlink tab back... but I'd rather not use the hyperlinks too much.

A concatenated cell contains a string. XL can only plot that on a
Category axis (x-axis for charts such as Line, Column, Area). It
cannot use a string for a y-value.
What you may want to do is plot the decimal equivalent and then use the
ratio column as a label for the plotted series.
