How to add a Page Total to Report

I'm a newbie to SSRS having only spent time on the fairly basic SSRS 
elearning tutorial.  

I have a basic matrix report, that shows multiple pages.  I'd like to show a 
total across all pages.  How would I achieve this?

Hi Mark,

perform the following steps

- Add a page footer to the report
   (Report - Add Page Footer)
- Then select 'Report Data' - 'Page Number' and draw it onto the page footer

Hello Mark,

perform the following steps

- Add a page footer to the report (Report - Add Page Footer)
- Select the 'Report Data' tab
- Under 'Built-In-Fields' select 'Total Pages' and draw it on the page footer.

Klaus - 

Thank you for the suggestion.  FYI I am in ssrs 2005.

I added a page footer (Report - Page Footer)

I went to the "Data" tab in the report.rdl next to "Layout" but did not see 
"Built-In-Fields"

By the way ... I don't see how adding a page footer gets me what I am 
looking for, which is a total across all pages, not a total at the bottom of 
each page ... but I am new so what do I know.

Thanks for the response.  I love the written word and misunderstandings that 
it brings.

I'm not looking for a page count.

I have amounts on page 1, amounts on page 2, and amounts on page 3; after 
page 3,  I want a fourth page that shows the sum of the amounts on page 1 
through page 3.

Is there a way to do that?

Re-reading your response(s) makes me think you're answering a different 
questions.  

I'm not looking for a page count, or the total of the page count.

I have amounts on page 1, amounts on page 2, and amounts on page 3; after 
page 3, I want a fourth page that shows the sum of the amounts on page 1 
through page 3. 

Is there a way to do that?

Hi Mark,
The best way to get a page total  is to first create a page footer and add a 
text box to it.  Add an expression to the text box to create the sum of the 
field you want.  But in footers you cannot sum actual fields in the report, 
you have to sum the textbox that the field is located in.  For instance if 
you want to have a page total of the field price, then you have to put an 
expression referring to the textbox that the field "Price" is located in. 
Looks like this.  =Sum(ReportItems!Textbox1.Value)
That will give you a pagetotal on each page.  As far as a Grand total on the 
last page and you probably need it to line up even or lower than the page 
total you have, you need to go a slightly different route.  Add a footer to 
your Matrix.  So, insert a row that is outside of the grouping below and 
then create a sum for the specific field that you want like this. 
=SUM(Fields!Price.Value).  That will give you the grand total at the bottom 
of the Matrix  To get it to be in the pagefooter and to make it show up only 
on the last page you do this:  Create another text box in the page footer. 
Create an expression referencing that grand total you just created.  Only 
this time, do not sum it because it is already summed in the Matrix. 
ReportItems!Textbox2.Value

That will do it.  It will only show up on the last page of your report 
because the grandtotal only shows up in the Matrix footer which only shows 
up at the end of the Matrix, which only shows up on the very last page.

Landed Costs Reporting
My company wants to start using the landed cost functionality in GP. But one thing that we cannot seem to resolve are the reporting capabilites of GP in regards to landed costs. We want these costs to be added to inventory (hence our desire to use landed costs), but we still want to know the breakdown of our cost of sales when the items are sold. Hello, Here is a scenerio. A client is buying 1lb of ham. It is put on a waxed paper then wrapped into a white paper and then put into a shopping bag. I would like to create a custom application that has the ability to maintain the items that are on certain Task Pads within POS 2009. These items would all be regular menu items (ex: hamburger, hot dog, french fries, etc) and not functions. I have two fields that should match, but one includes special characters while the other does not. Worker's Comp Report Doesn't need a page header between wc codes
V9 has added a page header between Worker's Comp Codes. We have 3 page headers on page 4 for example...another increase in report length. VBA to page down in a subform
