This is a mess!
My Domain Controller/Exchange Server experienced a fatal error.
Drive D had some sector errors but is now functioning. This is where
Exchange was installed. This error caused Drive M to "dispapear".
At this point Exchange Manager says the Exchange Server cannot be contacted
although all the automatic services are started.
Drive D seems to have the data store files (hopefully in tact).
I've now created a new machine in a new domain with a fresh install of
Exchange 2000. I want to "recover" the data from the original Exchange 2000
server (rememeber th...I cant see pictures inserted into word/publisher
On reopening the files I can't see pictures inserted in Word or Publisher.
I'd suggest start by updating your graphics driver.

I am trying to install Publisher 2003. Even before it comes up with the
Product Key, it gives the message "This patch package could not be opened.
Verify the patch package exists and that you can access it."
I have Office 2003 Basic Edition installed. I uninstalled the Office and
then tried to install it but still it comes up with the same message. Did
some research and used the Windows clean up utility but to no avail.

toolbars'. The customized toolbars work great during a
single Excel session. When I fire-up Excel the next time
it's reverted to the as-delivered toolbars. What's wrong?

Also on start-up, Excel sometimes opens two blank

Contact the person who created the file and ask them to save it as a Pub
2000 file. There is nothing *you* can do other than to upgrade to Pub 2003.

I recently uninstalled norton, added macafee, did a compression and defrag
and may have deleted a file or two . . . :P Anyway, now when I try to open
Publisher or a Publisher file from explorer, I get the error 1304 message
asking if I have access to program files/microsoft
I have access to this file and can see it from explorer. How do I correct
this issue so I can run Publisher again?

Is it safe to run the Windows defrag on a server that is running Exchange
2000? I have read conflicting reports and would like some feedback from this

I currently use Microsoft Word for a lot of things but one problem I
run into and I hope can explain this correctly. I insert a picture and
want to type next to the picture but text has to be put on line below
picture which takes up space that I need.
Also not the right message board but can you insert pictures in an
excel spreadsheet and put text next to picture?

Would anyone know why emails that have not been set to track in CRM

company I've joined, and there was no IT handover, so I'm trying to
bodge my way through things. They use Exchange 2003. I have checked
the users' settings- they do not have 'track all emails' set.
I've copied few dialogs from one project into another, but I can't see
my dialogs in new project when I call DoModal(). Why? Btw, I can edit them
in resource view.
You might for example have ActiveXs or the RTF-control on them, and the new
project has not initialized the correct libraries. There is a flag you can
set for the dialog templates, that the dialog box should be created even if
the controls fail. Try this option, and then you might see the dialog
without the troublesome controls.
