ms office professional 2003
Whenever I run a worksheet, no matter how small, I keep running out of virtual memory, and the file freezes up. I get a message that the programme is not responding, and have to log out. Anyone got any suggestions to cure this problem? Among other possibilities, either VM settings on your computer have been improperly modified or more likely you are running out of consective free space on your hard disk. When is the last time it was defragmented? How much free space is available? HTH |:>) "frustrated" wrote: > Whenever I run a worksheet, no matter how small, I keep run...

moving layout or ruler guides above everything? in Publisher 2003
Is there any way to move either the layout guides or ruler guides to the very top of all items on the page? When I import an image (JPG photo) to use as my background and make it as big as the whole page, it covers all the guides and I can not see the layout guides or any of the ruler guides I drag out. Even if I use 'Order' and 'Send to Back' it does not move the photo behind the guides. Is there a solution to this? Since my photo covers the whole page, the guides do not even peek out at the edges of the layout. Bulka9190 wrote: > Is there any way to move either th...

Cannot uninstall MSIE to reinstall with Outlook Express upgrade
I need to upgrade to the newest version of OE but to do so I would have to uninstall MSIE as The installer senses that a newer version is already installed and will not let me proceed with installation. Help?! Hi - that's odd, as OE is part of IE. Have you run Windows Update recently? Also note - This is a group to support Outlook from the Office group of programs. Outlook Express is a part of Internet Explorer and is a quite different program, despite its similar name.. You will probably get a faster and more expert answer if you post this to an Outlook Express news group. Try po...

Publisher and tables
I'm trying to print an extremely basic catalogue with Publisher 2003. Two A5 pages on one A4 sheet. Simple enough. It's little more than a long table (product code, description, price). Some 450 lines in fact. But Publisher tells me that it can't deal with tables over 128 lines. Is this really true? There's no way that I'm going to break it up and insert it chunk by chunk (particularly as changes will have to be down by hand, as there is no global chnage facility). Is there really no way to autoflow tables or Excel worksheets from page to page and keep them connected? Even...

Complete uninstall
How do you do a 100% uninstall of Outlook, so that it can be reinstalled cleanly? My copy of Outlook has gotten corrupted (vague "unknown error" messages whenever I try to do nearly anything), and I haven't been able to fix it. I want to reinstall the program, so I I removed it using the Office Installer update feature, then rebooted and reinstalled, using the same feature. No luck--the reinstallation had the same problems. Next, I completely uninstalled Office, rebooted and reinstalled. Same result--I've still got the same problems in Outlook. Now, I realize the pro...

Problems moving outlook.pst from one computer to another
Folks, [Please include victor@whyaduck.org in your reply, as my direct access to these newsgroups is limited.] In an attempt to transfer all of my Outlook content from one computer to another, I moved the entire outlook.pst file from one computer to the other, renaming the old outlook.pst on the receiving computer to old-outlook.pst, and storing the new outlook.pst in the same place. Both computers are running Windows XP and Outlook 2002. For the most part this process worked! I have all of my mail folders, settings, etc. on the receiving computer, and I have been able to send and receive...

Publisher 2000 will not open.

MS Publisher mail merge
I did a mail merge with Publisher because I have some varible images (signatures). The resulting Pub is about 500 pages. When I try paging thru the final pub, it takes about 30 seconds to go from page to page. I'm running Publisher 2004 on a Win XP Pro pentium 4 machine with 512Mb Ram. Lots of free disk space, etc... MS Pub is pegged at about 50% cpu. Could it be the tiff images on each page? Is there a way to merge them as links instead of embedded images? If I keep the page count down to batches of 50 or less, things are more bareable. ...
