Acrobat 7

I see that version 7 can now save MS Publisher files as PDFs directly from
the application as it does with Word, etc.

Now, I can print Publisher files to the PDF printer.

So, is there an advantage to this feature, is it worth the upgrade?

BTW, I use Publisher almost exclusively.

With Adobe Acrobat 6 Pro, Win2PDF, and PrimoPDF all are installed as a
printer driver.

Adobe Acrobat 7 provides a very useful add-in for Word. However it prevents
updates to normal.dot. To resolve an issue with Adobe Acrobat 7, there are
instructions near the bottom of this Web page that will solve the problem
(scroll down to Acrobat 7):

What upgrade are you talking about? Upgrading Acrobat? I am using Acrobat
Standard v5.0 and I'm perfectly happy with it. I have no problem with going
File|Print and then selecting the Distiller.

I am considering an upgrade to Acrobat Pro just because I want to be able to
create forms that cam be filled out line and emailed back - not because of
any interaction with Publisher.

Hyperlinks in your document are automatically converted.
Single-colour transparency is handled better; transparent gradients are
broken completely (but in a different way to how they are broken with
regular printers).

I'm not sure about outlining, heading styles, etc., but I imagine there
would be some automated feature to do with those.

It can be more convenient than using the manual procedure.

As you could with version 6, 5, 4, 3 2 and 1.

What "feature"? I've been 'printing' Publisher files directly to PDF since -
well since at least version 3. There's nothing to "upgrade".

The PDFMaker add-in that has always been in Word has been ported to
Publisher.

It's quite a useful feature in Word with long documents - all internal links
are preserved (e.g. table of contents, index, etc.), and it automatically
generates the table of bookmarks based on your document map.
