FTE's in Portfolio Server vs Project Server

Is there a way that I can change the calendar for the calculation of FTE's in
Portfolio Server? It appears to calculate FTE's based on an 8 hour day,
resulting in my Project Server imported Resource Utilisation showing as 0.92
or something per FTE.

FYI, the export from PPS to PS Resource Plan the value is correct 1 FTE = 1
FTE, it's just when I Update Availability do I see these different values.

Any help would be great thanks,

SQL Server 2008 R2 Native Client backward-compatible to SQL 2005/2008??
We have several different SQL Server versions in our datacenter, with SQL Native Client 9.00.1399.06 on our Citrix servers. The above SQL Native Client goes with our Great Plains app client, it's possible we will have a new, higher-level SQL Native Client installed by another application client... Can different Native Clients exist on the same server, can newer Native Clients accommodate older SQL Server versions and applications??? Issues or 'gotchas' I should know about?? Making Exchange 2003 server a DC/GC server?
Is it now a recommended practice to make a primary corporate Exchange 2003 server an AD domain controller/GC server, so that the Exchange server can do local GC lookups faster (as long as the server has the RAM and horsepower)? Robert: I have never seen a recommendation that this is a good practice. While "best practices" for some things change over time, I think this is still a bad idea (IMHO). In an environment with more than a few hundred users, it is just a bad design. Small organizations can't afford this, of course, but larger ones can and should put their D...

leave a copy of messages on the server
Leave a copy of messages on the server The default for this should be yes not no. If you believe the it should be no, then this should be up front in the installation or not have a default at all (i.e. have the user make an active decision) I want to leave a copy of my messages on the server in case I want to access an email when I am away from home. When my PC crashed and I had to buy a new one I was happy that I had a copy of my recent emails on the server, I installed outlook on the new machine it wiped out all my emails on the server, this was totally unexpected and disconcer...

X400 vs SMTP connectors
Dear collegues: We need to replicate two exchange servers, one of them is Exchange 5.5 and the other one is Exchange 2000. The problem is that we used X400 connectors in our Exchange 5.5 and SMTP connectors in the Exchange 2000. Is there any problem to interconnect both using SMTP connectors??? Any aditional idea? CSocketFiles / CArchive vs Raw Buffer Manipulation
This is a continuation of my previous topic, but a new question so I figured I'd post it as a new topic. MFC has the built in option to use CArchives to communicate throuhg CSockets. For something such as trasmitting image buffers on a local network, should I use the CArchive method or just do it with a raw method? Does using the CArchive->CSocketFile->CSocket have a large enough overhead that it would be unadvisable for an almost continuous transfer (~300kb / sec)? TIA, Josh McFarlane As a second note: Another issue I'm having grips with understanding is de-serializing a v...

Hi, When I run the Cycle Biller, it is automatically computing a state sales tax amount. The project budget for all cost categories are set as non-taxable. Where is the tax schedule defaulting from? Thanks. I believe it is default setup from the customer record under "Ship to" and depends on what sales tax id you have set-up at that screen. Remove old server from server list
Hi, I did an upgrade from Exch 5.5 to 2003. Then oops, I didn't remove the server from the exchange servers list before I took it off the network (permanently... formatted and such.) Anyway, I can't get the server off of the server list in my Administrative Group. I keep getting RPC errors because it's trying to connect to the dead server. Any ideas? Event ID 3010 : Exchange 5.5 server not routing inbound mail properly...
We have an Exchange 5.5 server and have around 8 different email domains all set up as valid inbound email domains using the IMC routing tab. Most users can connect up to our email server and send an email to someone in their same domain, or someone in one of the other 7 domains hosted on our server without any difficulty. Sometimes however users will get a bounced message back stating that the message wasn't sent to the user as the host was unreachable. When I check Event Viewer on the server I see an Event ID 3010 "An attempt to connect to host "domain.com" failed. Do I...

Offsite primary DPM server?
Is is possible to just have one (primary) DPM server offsite (as opposed to having a primary DPM server onsite and a secondary one offsite)? bool or BOOL in MFC projects
Hello, Should I use bool or BOOL as a return type when I am implementing a new method? Thanks Vaclav Hello, In MFC it really doesn't matter since they mean the same thing more or less. bool is the perferred type since you should try to stick with standardized/STL types for many good reasons. Basically in MFC the BOOL data type is basically a simple macro that contains TRUE (#define TRUE 1) and FALSE (#define FALSE 0) being wrapped inside of the BOOL type, which ofcourse is what true/false is defined as. The compiler might whine when you mix and match (compiler warning), but...

Exchange Server Move
I'm trying to move my Exchange server to another server. I've moved the priv and pub databases over and those services start fine, however, the recipients and distribution lists are not being recreated. Problems removing Exchange 5,5 servers after migration to Exhange 2000
Hi there, We migrated our Exchange 5.5 site with 2 servers to an Exchange 2000 server (used for OWA) and an Exchnage 2000 cluster. All public folders and mail deliveries have been moved and everything works well without problems. Today we tried to remove the old Exchange 5.5 server as described in MS files Q316886 and Q284148. Both have you stop de Exchange services (or power down) the 5.5 servers and use the Exchange 5.5 administrator (installed with the Exchange 2000 server installation) to connect to the SRS server (in our case the OWA server). This is where it goes wrong. When I start t...

request for server licensing clarification
Is this correct about a Windows Server 2008 / 2003 mixed domain with a Windows Server 2008 R2 server with roles DC, AD, TS/RDS, DNS, DHCP?? Only devices that use RDS / Terminal Services in any way (e.g. a Citrix login via Citrix server) need TS/RDS CALs. Within the domain (we have only one domain) all devices that use any of the above-mentioned server roles/services (e.g. DNS, DHCP, etc.) require Server CALs. Hence one might generally have more server device CALs than RDS device CALs?? Thank you... On Thu, 8 Apr 2010 07:01:01 -0700 (PDT), tom12010 <tlyczko@gmail.com> w...

Writing from SQL Server to a UNC path
Is it possible to write a file from SQL server to a UNC path. I am working with a dba to change a process. Currently the DBA creates a file with SQL on the server running SQL Server and writes the file to a local directory on the server. I then have a scheduled task that moves the file to a file share on another server. I was wondering if it is possible to have the file written directly to the server using a UNC path eliminating the need for the scheduled task. Thanks Yes, you can. Make sure SQL Server is running under a domain account and that the account has read/write privi...
