You can install on another machine, i.e., in case you need to replace a POS
terminal, but you have to call Microsoft to register the license. It is
supposed to be a 24/7 access number.

Quy,

You won't be able to run the POS until you have a valid PID, just like =
almost all MS products now.

Quy,

Do you have the pre-release version? If so, it expires sometime around =
now. Look at the date of the SOPOSUuser.exe or SOManager.exe files on =
the CD and if dated 11/??/06 or earlier, that's a pre-release. Released =
version is dated 12/08/06

Otherwise, there were/are some problems with the telephone activation =
process in the last couple of days, my understanding is that if you can =
get to a person, they can activate the release version only. The =
automated voice way is having problems.

Jason,

1) The product hasn't even officially shipped yet, so there may be some =
glitches to start.

2) You only register _once_ , when you set up the machine. Are you =
really stressed for an extra 10 minutes to speak to a live voice?

3) Don't know what the number is for outside the U.S., but as with all =

My question is this; we only have one point of sale terminal, however we run
the back office (admin modules) on two other computers. The dongle only had
to be installed on one machine in order to access the admin funtions from any
machine. How does that change now that the dongle has been replaced by a
product code? Does this mean that I need to licence my backoffice machines as
well? Not going to happen.

No, you are not required to purchase a license for terminals where you are
going use Manager and Administrator. However, if want to run POS on any of
back office machines, you will have to purchase license for the machines.

Product key for different language
Just ordered a second copy of Office 2004 for Mac and with the shipment confirmation of the shop I have noticed that I have ordered the wrong language version and not the English one. As I already have a copy of the English Office 2004 I was wondering if it is possible to use the product key from the new non-english version for an installation from the english cd. In other words: can I use (technically and legally) the license which I have bought now to install a second copy of the english version or do I have to return the non-english version to swap it for the english one? I would ra...

Report 2 pages wide
Hi, I have a report that needs to extend over 2 pages, i.e. one line per subject and 15 columns of information that do not all fit on 1 letter-sized page. Right now I have all the information on 1 page, but the page is larger than letter size. How do I deal with this? Is there a way similar to Excel, where one can repeat the Subject ID (first column) on the second page, so that the lines of data can be easily identified? Cannot open excel files #2
Hi, When I try to open any excel document by double clicking on it the following error is coming up. "Cannot find the file [file name] (or one of its components). Make sure the path and the filename are correct and that all required libraries are available. However if you first open excel and then go File >> Open >> and select the file from there the file would open without any problems. I have re-installed office but this didn't solve the problem. Can you please advise? Thanks and Regards Gordon Buhagiar -- gbuhagia ------------------------------------------------...

How do I print a smaller version of my document in Publisher?
I have a document in Publisher that is 11x17 and I want to print a version of it for approval on my home printer in 8x11. When I try to reduce it in the printer dialog box, it only prints part of the page. There are a couple of ways to do this. I can tell you may favorite way. If you don't have some sort of a .pdf converter on your system, download one. (I tend to recommend PrimoPDF, www.primopdf.com). Open the file as a ..pdf and you can change the size of your print thru the Adobe Reader printer settings. (You may also want to check your printer setting. My HP will allow me to...

If I am in cell A1 and press the right arrow the entire row A dissapears and a new row appears on the right side. There has got to be some kind of setting that I changed to cause this, does anyone know where to find it? But now I get a "session failed" everytime I try to sync if there is more then one new item to be transferred. Ive set the time to everything between 1-10 minutes to give access to outlook. I managed to sync the phone with a new calender I made. But this gave me a weird problem when I wanted to change this new calender as my default calender in outlook. You cant do this. So everytime I open outlook it goes into the old calender. Anyone have any ideas for either problems? Sami sa...
