spam #5

Is there any method to identify the IP address of the anonymous spam
sender? Starting from this month I get a number of spams.

Thank you,

Pamjoly

Exchange 5.5 server removal #2
I have an Exchange 2003 org that has been migrated from an Exchange 5.5 server. I have gone through the process of removing the 5.5 server following http://support.microsoft.com/kb/284148. When I got to step 12, I noticed that the SRS database was corrupted. There is no backup to restore. I know I can go into adsiedit and manually remove the Exchange 5.5 server, but I will need to delete the SRS object from the Exchange Org and uninstall the ADC. (You can't remove the ADC with the SRS object still configured) When I went to delete the SRS object it told me I could not while the Exc...

How do I stop Outlook from marking messages as spam?
I have two email addresses going into outlook. My main business address (prettypatios.com)marks all messages as spam. While the other email address (with sbcglobal.net) doesn't. How can I change these settings? The mail goes to my inbox, with the spam notation on the subject line. So every time I reply to a message, I have to remember to delete the spam notation from the subject line. I don't want clients thinking I've marked their addresses as spam! I'm using Outlook 2003 That's not Outlook that's doing it. It's something likely happening from your ISP. C...

Sent messages viewed as spam on other domains
I've just set up a Server 2003 environment with Exchange 2003. I'm working on sending and receiving messages using the Outlook Web Access feature. I am able to send and receive messages to other domains, say address@gmail.com or address@yahoo.com. My problem is that my email messages are going into Google and Yahoo's spam folders. exchange 5.5 recovery question
Hi all - I'm going to be moving my exchange 5.5 server from NT4 to 2000 server. The 2000 machine will have the same IP\machine name as the NT4 box. I plan on using setup/r on the new machine. In reading the 'exchange 5.5 disaster recovery' whitepaper from MS, I saw the following requisite for the 'recovery machine' - the same role, so if the old machine was a pdc\bdc, the new machine has to be as well - my current exchange machine is bdc in the domain. The new exchange box will be a member of the NT4 domain, but obviously it won't be a pbc/bcd - will this cause me a ...

removing the last of 5.5
I have already upgraded to Exchange 2003 from 2000 and 5.5, everything has been moved over and the 5.5 has been down for some time and everything is working fine. Now that I want to remove the 5.5s the Active directory seems not to be able to connect to the 5.5 server. I have already removed it from the 5.5 organization but it is not synchronizing with the 2003 system manager. How can I manually remove this server from the 2003 system manager? Thanks. OL2002 Exchange Server 5.5; Rules do not run automatically; Run fine manually
I have OL2002 SP3 (on XP-Pro) with some rules to filter emails. I am connecting to an Exchange Server 5.5 SP4. My rules do not execute automatically - but if I run them manually they work just fine. A coworker is running OL2000 SR-1 with similar rules and his works fine against the same Exchange Server. Thanks, Scott ...

public folder permissions #5
in my exchange 5.5 environment, i was able to setup users with 2 user accounts and 2 mailboxes each. This allowed a user to logon with a user acct, and access another mailbox (which the user acct was given rights to). The mailbox was then used to access public folders, the permissions of the public folders were based on the mailbox (outlook profile) that the user was connected to, not the user acct used to logon to the system. In testing the Exchange 2003/AD environment, it seems that the permissions to the public folders are based on the user acct that you are logged onto the system...

Exchange 5.5 Reinstall & isinteg -patch
Let me give you the situation: I'm a brand new administrator just joining a medium sized (bout 2000 users all together) company. Specifically, I'm going to be handleing their move to Windows 2003 and Exchange 2003. One thing that I'm really distrubed by though is that their existing infrastructure is downright scary (their PDC died last week...so get this, they slapped the hard drives in another machine and prayed they could get it to come up...they did, but how crazy is that that that (like that? ;) ) happened at all.) Anyways, backk to their exchange org...they have three dom...

Exchange 5.5 Recovery #2
I just want to verify what steps are needed to recover a Exchange 5.5 server with multiple sites. Do I re-install Exchange on the new server and create a new site (same Domain, Site and Server name) not join an existing site? Then do a restore of the stores and directory? I have done recoveries in the past in a single site scenario but not one with multiple sites. Please advice! Spam spam spam spam
I have Outlook 6. I don't know how to upgrade as the Microsoft website Help is so kernaptious and unfriendly. I have tried all the ways I can, but filters don't work. I think you need to go and find an e-mail handler which you pay for, because Microsoft seem to do it. So what does your Subject header have to do with your question? Are you a compulsive liar? Slow connection with Exchange Connector to Exchange 5.5
Hi, We have a windows 2000 SP4 server with Exchange 5.5 SP4. About 300 connect to this server using Outlook 98 and Outlook 2003, about 50 of them over WAN-connections. All users use "Exchange connector" in Outlook to connect. When the server is started everything works as it should and access i fast. But from there it slows down until the WAN-users can't connect anymore about 2-3 days later. If I set up an IMAP4 or POP3 connection from the PC's of the WAN-users they can connect just fine. There are also no error-messages on the mail-server (event viewer). Any ideas ...
