"This file may not be safe" messaage after converting db from access '97 to 2003.
Hi all Have just put a database written under access 97 on a machine with 2003. I got an initial warning message about "unsafe expressions not being blocked" which sugessted I needed to load Jet 4 servicepack 8, which I did. That sorted that but I now get a "this file may not be safe" message and have to click yes to the prompt everytime I open the database to use it. I want to stop the warning coming up, and to do that it seems I need a digitally signed certificate. Is this true? if so, how do I create one and apply it to my database? hey guys, I'm not sure if what I would like to do is possible or not. Basically, every week I put out a list of every different variation of product that will be produced over the next eight weeks. Right now, I have to manually combine each variation across the eight weeks via cutting and pasting then deleting the now empty row. Backup .pst files #2
Hi, I have around 20 users running Outlook 2000 all with their own .pst files held locally on either PCs or laptops. I would like to move these .pst files to a central server so that they are backed up every night. The problem with this is that if the server goes down or a laptop is moved off site, they don't see their email untill they are reconnected to the server. Is there a way to have their .pst file on the server and held locally and any changes are made to both copies. Also, if a user goes off site and sends/receives new email, can these changes to their local .pst file be replica...

Publisher repeatedly opens files as a new untitled document
I just upgraded from Microsoft Works 2001 suite to MS Office 2003 on my laptop. On another computer I was running Publisher 2000. I copied a Pub 2000 file to My Docs and opened it with my new Pub 2003. Two big problems... it doesn't recognize a number of fonts, which is fine except that I keep selecting to permanently replace the unrecognized fonts w/ Times New Roman so I could customize the file from scratch w/ available Pub 2003 fonts, but it doesn't save that option, it keeps making the same prompt each time I open it. The other main problem is that when it does open the ...

Office 2000 (Delay to open Files)
Greetings, I'm having a challenge on a particular computer opening any office documents. If we double click the file to open it (network or local source) it shows the hour glass for what feels like hours - it may eventually open, sometime we give up. Now, if we open the application first (i.e.: Excel) then go to File-> Open and select any file it opens immediately. I've had this problem before, the only solution I could find at the time was wipe the machine and start over. I tried a repair or re-installation of Office, no change. What is advantage of using a resouce file as opposed to a string variable?
I've read Karl's article about using a .res file and LoadResData to store and transfer data, but why is this better than just using a string variable? I need to pump a load of data into a user-defined array (88 piano keys!) once only at startup and in the past I have handled that kind of task by sticking the data into a string, then using, say, Split to extract it. I then set the string to "" to recover memory. This is a lot less faffing about than using the resource editor and I can quickly change values in the string on the fly to test. So what's the adv...
