Oultlook 2000 CW and Exchange 2003 Read Receipts

Good Evening
I am trying to prevent Read receipts from being automatically responded to
in Outlook 2000 being setup with exchange 2003, in CW mode.

I have tried editing the key in the registry:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\9.0\Outlook\Options\Mail\Receipt
Response=dword:00000002

But this had no effect.

I have had a look at the article on Microsoft Knowledge Base (KB:324636)
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;324636
However this is for exchange 2000, would this work in 2003 and if so, is it
possible to download the hotfix without paying for Microsoft support.
Although I do not belive it would work if it is for 2000.

I have noticed that there are third party scripts/apps to completely block
read receipt requests this but would prefer to avoid the 3rd party route, if
possible.

Interestingly one client machine does not appear to be responding to read
recipts, and the user belives this may be because Outlook was set to not
respond, before it was switched to CW mode from Internet Mail mode. Could
there be another reason why this client is not sending responses?

I have advised the client they should consider upgrading their Outlook to
2003, however they are running alot of applications that using the MAPI
client for sending emails, and are reluctant to upgrade because of the
Security Update that blocks emails being sent, I am aware of the public
folders/Policy fix for this. But would prefer solving the problem with their
current setup.

Any Help appreciated.
Regards
Paul

Hotfixes are always available at no change by following the instructions in
the article describing the fix. You must have the considtions described in
the article, however,

I thought so, but do you know if in this case it would be relevant(as it is
for 2000, not 2003), and how do i get hold of the hotfix, as it is not
downloadable and the link they give is for paid support.

How to get rid of this ( SBS 2000 )
Hello everyone, We have a SBS 2000 with exchange and host the mail server locally behind a firewall. Recently we have been getting mail infected with a virus called W32/SDBot.BAY. The first part of the sender's email is made up of random letters and the domain is consistent. Some thing like ABDF@cnn.com or GKYER@cnn.com. We are using GFI mail security and those emails are stopped and quarantined before they get to the end user. We had found what IP address those emails were coming through and send a message to the abuse.rr.com and ask for a fix. Maybe they fixed it but now the IP so...

Trying to use Access 2000 databases in Access 2003
We use two very simple (no macros, etc.) but important databases in our office. One was created in Access 2000, and the other was converted to Access 2000 from an earlier version. When we try to open either file in Access 2003, the program essentially stops responding. We are sometimes able to open the files after restarting Access, enabling the databases under Help/About Access and restarting Access again. We've set the security level to "low" to discontinue the security prompts. Is there any way to convert these two files to the 2003 format? If not, is there some oth...

Dividing a cell in Excel 2000
I am embarrassed to ask, but here goes. About a year ago some of you on this forum explained how I can divide a cell without creating a whole new row. I can't remember how I did it. Sync with Exchange
I have almost 10GB of data in my exchange-account. When installing Outlook on a new computer I would prefer to only sync mails received and sent during the last year. I know it is possible to specify this time limit but then I have to do it separately for each folder and there are plenty. I don't think it is possible to set it recursively. Am I wrong? I asume I could write a script that recursively go through all folders and set this but I don't know how to do it. Outlook Rules not working with new Exchange Server
We recently (last week) upgraded our Exchange 5.5 server with a new machine running Exchange 2003. Since that change, a few clients who use Outlook Rules to forward messages to other email addresses have noticed that those messages are no longer being delivered. We have clients using Outlook 2000 and some using 2003 - it doesn't seem to matter which version of Outlook that's being used. The rules work just fine for placing specific messages into specific folders, but anytime that a message is supposed to be forwarded to an outside email address, it is never delivered. Any ide...
