OL2003 Attachment Problems

Hi,

a custumer experiences the following problem within his network (w2k3
server, XPSP1 clients)
with regard to outlook and attachments:

The mail in question is a mail with a rar-compressed attachment:
If the same mail goes to a workstation with OL2002(SP3) installed,
everything is
perfect, but on the workstations with OL2003 (SP1) installed, the mail seems
to
be "empty".

That is: no "from", no "to", no "subject" and no attachment.

In the body only one line shows up, which seems to be the header of the
rar-attachment.
Even changing the extension of the attachment (to ".bmp") does not change a
thing.

I tried everything to find the cause of this problem but have been
unsuccessfull
so far.

btw: OL Express does the same on these workstations.

Any ideas would be really appreciated!

H. Eberhard

Missing bodies are a bug and I forget if we have a resolution for it. You
might want to try searching google.com for that problem.

Hi , today i managed to localize the root of the problem. It is caused by
the
antivirus software installed (NOD32 from Eset) which tries to add a string
"Checked for Viruses" to the mail, thereby making the message unreadable to
OL2003. Disabling the string ading function within the anivirus software
solved the problem.

Thanks again for your help!!

Rule made to move messages from the Global Address List Address Book, on this machine only, move to a specific folder, quit working when Exchange server upgraded to 2003. Deleted and reintitiated the rule. No joy. Similar rules for mail from individual accounts on the GAL work well, but these do not specify movement from an address book. Attachments to accounts and transactions
Any chance that Money will get the capability to attach documents (i.e. account statements) to accounts and transactions, much like Quicken does? If Money had that feature, I would delete Quicken once and for all. Frankly, some of us would just as soon M didn't mess with this given the more fundamental issues M has and the cost in resources to do this right. (I.e., we really do like having the data stored in one file and storing this kind of stuff in the file will cause size bloat like mad.) Daylight saving problems when using winapi's timezone functions.
Hi, I get times from a server given in UTC (Coordinated Universal Time or Universal Time Coordinated), that is similar to GMT (Greenwich Mean Time) but not adjusted to daylight saving time. That is, during summer, UTC differs one hour from London time, since UK uses daylight saving during summer. The application I develop is used worldwide so I can not assume or hardcode anything.
