OL2002->OL2003 migration issue

OL2002-2003 in a Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 environment. Public
Folders used for incoming e-mails from outside the company.

In OL2002, displaying and customizing the OL bar, when a new messages
arrives in a Public Folder, I see the usual bold (1) near that folder's
icon.
In OL2003 the OL bar is no more, replaced by the "links" view, which I
think it's better, but nothing appears if a new message arrives in a
public folder, even if, of course, there is a link to that folder in my
"links" view.

Is there any solution?
thanks

I found a workaround. If, first, I put this PF among my Favorites PFs,
there I see unread messages. Then, putting this link into the "links"
view, it's ok.
Any other "real" solution?
thanks

STARTTLS issue just started occurring on EX2000
I have remote users connecting using imap/SMTP for mail. We had to reboot the server over the weekend and now we are seeing the following issue Task 'webmail.madden.com - Sending' reported error (0x800CCC78) : 'Unable to send the message. Please verify the e-mail address in your account properties. The server responded: 505 5.7.3 Must issue a STARTTLS command first' Imap seems fine but this SMTP connector seems hosed. I have removed the certificate since this seems to be a SSL issue and have told Outlook 2003 to not authenticate. None of these has helped. This server...

Migrate users and groups to a new 2003 DC
I'm in the process of setup a new 2003 DC, with all updates integrated. This will take place in the same hardware that today is not a DC. Does exist a method to migrate users and groups, so the shares permissions wouldn't need to be setup again? Thanks. Data Migration
Hi All, Thought this might be interesting. I have just heard that Scribe have added a new licensing option. Currently they have a perpetual license for 3995 and a 90-day "migrate" license for 995. Now, they have added a 45-day "migrate" license for 495! This is a great option for an initial data load - now, you can use an evaluation version to design and test your data import and then just get the 45-day license to perform it. Excellent for cost-concious sites. Stephen P.S. I don't work for Scribe! ...

Strange problem after migration
After migrating over to Server 2003 and Exchange 2003 we are having a strange user poblem with Exchange. I migrated the user accounts over with the ADM tool then installed/migrated exchange over from 5.5. Now when I try to connect to OWA or using Outlook I have to login as: HCS\jhay instead of just jhay. HCS was the old NT4 domain and now my new domain is trillion21. I did the steps listed in Microsoft's Exchange 2003 Deployment Guide and everything went fine with no errors. Another thing is that if I go into AD Users and right click on a user it does not have any Exchange taks e...

mc file issues with VC 7.1
hi all, I have an urgent issue wherein an mc file compiled in VC7.1 is not giving the strings in localized format in a Japanese ( 0x411) dll. Similar file when compiled in VC 6.0 is having no issues. Another interesting thing to note here is that if I build the resource dll ( VC 7.1 )on a machine with machine's code page set as Japanese I get the resource strings right. But if this is built on a machine with default English code page, then the strings are corrupted. The .mc file is compiled using message compiler and then the output ( ..h, .bin and .res ) is being given to a rc tool whic...

Sharing access to Office Applications (Database Daemon issues)
Version: 2004 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) Processor: Power PC We have two users using three networked computers (a desktop and two laptops). We need access to the User Data from all three computers. To accomplish this need, the Office Identities Folder resides in the "Shared" User folder on the desktop with aliases in the Mac User/Documents/Microsoft_User_Data folders on all machines for both users pointing to that Identities Folder. This arrangement has worked well for us with reasonable limitations until recently when the first user/machine to use any Office applicat...

Migrating GP from SQL 2000 to 2005

Delivery Delay issue?
Hello, We have an Exchange 2000 Cluster that's having an odd problem... We have the SMTP connector configured to delivery all outbound email to a SmartHost relay. The relay is a huge well-know relay that we use for SPAM filtering. We keep finding messages stuck in the outbound queue and they sometimes generate Delay messages.. After doing a trace of the message ID, I can see that it never leaves the exchange server to go to the SmartHost... It seems to get stuck in the categorizer.. Any ideas why messages may be held up?? With a smart host forwarding configuration, we should never s...

Migrating Data From ACT to CRM Using DMF?
Hi, I was wondering if anyone has successfully migrated data from an ACT v6 database, to CRM 3? If so, could they supply some steps, or information on how they did it, plus if they ran into any problems! I've had a quick look at the DMF xls spreadsheets, and the wizards, which don't seem to complicated, however its importing the data from ACT to CDF using the Microsoft SQL Server Data Transformation Services (DTS) to populate the CDF that looks a bit complex. I think I read somewhere that you have to write some coding in sql to do this, correct? Also I've read some posts t...

I recently purchased an iPaq 2215 PocketPC. Included with the package is OL 2002. All my computers have OL 2000. Should I upgrade to 2002? Will I have to upgrade all my computers to 2002.
