Outlook picking up the wrong exchange server
Hey Guys, I have a very odd issue and it just started, when a user first logs on to a machine with his username and password and tries to create an outlook profile for the first time it defaults to a server called "Kexchange" and we dont have any server by that and never did. Usually the logon script we have picks up the user's logon DC and the Exchnage so when we go and configure outlook for the first time it usually should pick it up but in this case it is not which is odd. Any ideas? I bumped up up the logging on the NSPI proxy I got the usual 9040 event, ...

Howto find multiple servers using TCP
I have to search my subnet to look for servers that are listening on port 30715. I am using one thread of a derived class of CAsyncSocket. I am using CEvents with a 200 milisecond timeout, if there is no connection within the 200 miliseconds, then I know there is no serer. However searching from 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.1.254 takes a long time. Is there a better way? I can't think of another way. But if the server program is your program, then I have a suggestion. I have a server that alot of clients connect to, and I really didn't want to have to input the server address in ever...

moving IMS to new server
I am in the process of moving my Exchange 5.5 server to new hardware. I'm using the Ed Crowley method. My question is about the Internet Mail Connector. Since we use the IMS for directory replication with other sites, what is the best procedure for moving the IMS and the directory replication connectors to the new server? Does it need to be done all at once or can we do it in stages by having the IMS on both servers for awhile? I want to make sure that I do not have any disruptions in either internet mail or directory replication. Thanks a lot. Kenny "Kenny" <kstern...

VBA leaving Office for Mac?

Moving Mailboxes to Additional Exchange Server
We are having a problem moving our individual mailboxes to an additional Exchange server. We have to move every single piece of mail and move it to one folder in another Exchange server, so some people can search through it after it is indexed. I can not take any ideas on a better way to do this, because our CTO decided this is how we have to do it. The process now is using EXMerge to export the individual user mailboxes, then some renaming process of the PST and then import the PST into the second Exchange server. We rename the PST because it imports directly into the same folder as a...

Now, the same message is being sent every day or every other day to everyone on the list. Changing server IP pitfalls?
We are planning to move our servers to a new building which is on a different IP subnet than the current infrastructure. Our domain is a little tree in our forest on a large WAN. Currently we're connecting to root servers back in the US. What are the recommended steps to take when changing the IP addresses on servers in a native AD forest tree?
