Can't restore Outlook 2003 from the notification area (Windows XP Pro)

If I minimise Outlook to the systray, and then attempt to restore it at a
later time I receive the following message in an XP balloon.

"Outlook is not responding. If you are using an Exchange server email
account you can cancel pending server requests by clicking the Outlook icon
in the notifications area and then clicking Cancel Server Request on the
shortcut menu. "

I am not using Exchange, therefore I don't have the option to cancel server
requests - this is a standalone system - it's not even networked!

How do I resolve this? I have to restart the system to get it running again.

Whoops, should have said that it's the full retail version and this system
was not the one I ran the Beta on.

Outlook is possessed
It opens up a new window by itself, every 10 minutes or so, even when already open. This has been going on for about 6 months. I think there is a register corruption, but don't know how to fix it. This is driving me mad. It acts like a pop-up. What version of Outlook? If 2002 or 2003, do you have speech enabled? If yes, try turning off the microphone and see if this still happens. >-----Original Message----- >It opens up a new window by itself, every 10 minutes or >so, even when already open. Outlook 2000 Rules Wizard #2
Is there a way to setup a rule to mark messages as read? I know you can create a rule to move the messages or delete messages. But I wanted to create a rule to mark the message as read and then delete so I don't have to select the Deleted Folder and mark all as read. I want this because if I'm creating a rule to delete the messages then I already know I don't want to read them and its annoying to see 20 or 30 unread messages in the deleted items folder. Instead of choosing the rule 'delete' , you should be able to choose the rule 'permanently delete them'...

In other words, the old mail folders and Address books will be on a network drive and we want to open Outlook 2003 and import as much as possible from the network folders. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated! Andrew You can't. Outlook can only import directly from O...

Outlook 2007 opening multiple times
Hi I am using Windows 7 and Outlook 2007. When I used to use Vista and Outlook 2007 I could open outlook, minimise it and then click the Outlook icon in my taskbar (or click the icon that appears in the system tray) and it would maximise a minimised outlook. Now, on Windows 7, I find the taskbar icon opens another instance of outlook - identical to the previously minimised one. It will do this over and over creating any number of identical outlooks and in order to close outlook before I shut down, I have to close each and every outlook instance individually! How can I ...
