Problems with GP10 Field Service moduleI keep having new problems come up after upgrading from GP9 to GP10. At first
it was we could not post sop invoices that created a new contract and now we
find that Contract Revenue Recognition isn't working.
I figured out that applying SP3 resolved the invoice posting problem.
When I open Transactions>ContractAdministration>RevenueRecognition I get the
following error - "[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]Violation
of PRIMARY KEY constraint 'PKSVC00625'. Cannot insert duplicate key in object
'dbo.SVC00625'." before the window opens.

Attaching activities to leadsHello everyone!
I would like to asign one task activity to 600 leads.
I have created the task activity already and it is in
open status.
I have loaded my 600 leads already and they are in open
status.
Does anyone know how to do it?
Thanks so much.
Gus,
If you have a professional license, the best way to accomplish this would be via
a workflow rule. Had you set it up ahead of time, the activity could have been
created automatically by the workflow. Now, you will either need to delete &
re-import, or manually apply the rule to the leads.

item list should display more fieldswhen looking through item list, it would be nice if more fields were
available to see. If I am trying to find a specific item I don't always know
what the lookup code is for a size or color. I would like the option to
choose which fields are available for me to look at (like on a report) so I
can more quickly find items in the list.

Document ID Field LockedHi,
I'm trying to use VBA to unlock the DocumentID field (TypeID on the Sales
Transaction Entry window). Initially when entering a new order it is unlocked
but when you navigate off this field it locks and cannot be changed. The
people who installed GP are no longer here so I'm not sure if this is a
customization or if all GP installations work this way. In any case, I'd
like to unlock this field completely so that users can change the Type ID at
any time in case they put in the wrong one. No matter what VB code I use and
what event, the field stays locked after tabbing off...
How send email inline (not as attachment) from Word 2007?In Word 2003, when I have a document open I can click File | Send To |
and then choose Mail Recipient to have Word open Outlook and email the
document as text inside the message, not as an attachment.
However, in Word 2007 when I click on the MS Office button and choose
Send, that option sends it as an attachment. There doesn't seem to be
an option to send it inline.
Any thoughts? Thanks.
Add the "Send to Mail Recipient" item to the Quick Access Toolbar. You will
find it in the All Commands group.

required fields--the sequelHello:
I already got the answer to my question, thanks to the kindness of Habib
Salim!
I just have a follow-up question to the topic I created earlier on "requried
fields".
If you cannot make a required field "unrequired" even through the use of the
Dexterity code, is that because of a setting (flag) in SQL? I'm just
wondering what mechanism is being used in the system to prevent "unrequiring"
a field.
Thanks!

No that is in the application, in Dex code.
From a SQL point of view, Dexterity creates all table fields as not null so

Need to change date in field to whatever I wantI have a database for my research. I need to change the date, so that I do
not have any restraints on my admissions. I have checked the data field for
date of admission and it looks exactly the same in the data field, but for
some reason, the date will not allow me to move forward with 2010. I am not
sure what to do. Can you please help. This seems to be the only field that
does not change to what I need it to change to. I currently am able to use
the date for 2010. in other date fields except for one field. Please any
suggestions. I am very new in setting or using access.

Stopping emails with .exe attachments?Running Ex2003 on 2003 Server in a 2000 Domain.
Is there anyway to stop emails with certain kinds of

Nothing native will do this; there's attachment blocking in Outlook, but you
shouldn't wait til mail gets to the client to handle this. The best way to
deal with it would be to get Exchange antivirus software, which you should
be running anyway...it can do this and more. Trend ScanMail or Sybari
Antigen would be good to look at as they're probably the best out there. You
can get a free 30 day eval of Scanmail from the Trend site.

deleting a fields contentI have a situation in which a user will need to delete only the content of
one field for a record. For each record in the table there is a column
(field) called IsChildOf. On the webpage there will be a button that will
delete only the content (a number) of the field IsChildOf for the record.
So, if record ID 449945 has 25 in the IsChildOf and the person uses the
delete button, the 25 is deleted.
How is the DELETE statement constructed for something like that (I'm a noob
to sql)?
Thanks.

Hotmail OL attachment uploadsSince upgrading from OL XP to OL 2003, everytime I send an email from OL
with an attachment of any size or type, it seems to fail with an error
below. However, when i check the sent items folder, there are multiple
copies of the sent email therefore spamming the recipient's mailbox
unknowingly I think.
At the same time, trying to stop the file from sending from the outbox, I
can't delete the file when it is not sending until I access offline mode. I
now have to use the web based version to send attachments.

Outlook Express removing access to attached email filesI requested a file from DayTimer, a reputable online

sure this file is fine (no viruses etc.). When I clicked
on the paper clip to download the attachment, I got this
message: "OE removed access to the following unsafe
attachments in your mail: top10faq.htm" This actually
happened with three separate emails from DayTimer, with
three separate attachments. How can I gain access to
these attachments? I am sure these attachments are virus-
free.

Allow searching of date fields to allow wildcard charactersFor fields such as birthdays and expiry dates, customers often want to search
the database for a list of contacts with birthdays. It would be great if you
would allow wildcards in date field searches so that we could search for all
birthdays that occur in a specific month. The year is not always relevant
when performing date searches. Birthdays is a common search performed by
customers in the financial sector as well as other industries. Currently, we
have to add an additional text field to facilitate this type of search. It
adds confusion to the users, in some cases double data entry...
cut and paste limitations for TO FieldI use Outlook 2002 and an Exchange 2000 server. The
